I was bowling in league play when I had a similar accident. My thumb was swollen due to this being the second league I had bowled that day. I am a one seventy bowler and I was in the middle of a 241 game. I was lucky that I was allowed to bowl first roll on that game. My team bowled 210 above average and lost 3 games our opponents beat us by fifty five pins. One opponent, a scratch bowler, rolled a 297, 800 series.
