Could you post the song 'Cotton Candy', at least i think that's the title - That and 'Amphibious Assault' about technology and war in the distant future were two of my most favorite songs, along with 'The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins' and 'Highly Illogical'.
If he were a Carpenter, he would have sung with Karen!
If you check out other tracks of his, the lower register is pretty good. But as soon as he goes higher, the tonality becomes unpleasant. This song is a little boarderline at times.
I read somewhere that every TV star was being pushed to sing and release albums back then because of the popularity variety shows. It was cheap and easy publicity.
Oh, that is funny! What you read is correct. There was a period when any celeb was indeed pushed to record an album. The social concerns of the time, drugs and psychedelia were scaring the establishment. Their solution was 'wholesome' music by 'respected' mainstream celebrities. My favourite (wish I had a video to post) was a folk singer named Burl Ives, in Nehru Jacket, singing 'Gentle on my Mind'. Also Merv Griffin, again in a Nehru, with an anti-drug tune called 'Have a Nice Trip'.
There's something so special about Leonard Nimoy's voice! He puts so much emotion into the song...his lower tones are rich and his higher notes are uplifting! Thanks so much for uploading!
Hearing Leonard sing is like hearing Jim Nieghbors out of character. Nice!

Already did Cotton Candy. Unfortunately, Amphibious Assault did not copy well in the transition from analogue cassette to digital disc. Sorry.

What a tender presentation of simple love by a man I believe is in love with being in love, and who is very simple and tender in his way of living.
