This regeneration isn't really as powerful as the Doctor's, but it's good. I wonder if they'll ever change the regeneration???? xx

@kerrierose1 It's not as powerful because it's a normal regeneration. When the Doctor regenerated in the End of Time he held back the regeneration far longer than he should have done, plus he absorbed all that radiation. So when he finally released the energy it came out with so much force it destroyed the TARDIS console room

@kerrierose1 Ah I'm with you now. I think that's down to that the Master has more control over regeneration than the Doctor, seems like the best explanation to me :)

I think the Master Trilogy is possibly the best bunch of episodes in 45 and a half years of Doctor Who. The revelation of the fob watch, then the relisation from the Doctor, the regeneration and the cliffhanger all add up to the best end to a Doctor Who episode ever.

Well. The Master is better at regenerating than the Doctor! The Doctor never really got the hang of it, and always goes a bit strange for an episode or two afterwards...

Yes it's true all timelords have 12 regenerations and therefore 13 lives but this rather awkward impediment to immortality can be overcome simply by relying on clever writing by the boys and girls at the BBC. And the Master didn't have the Doctor's hand, Captain Jack did. He used it as a "Doctor Detector", remember?

well rose obviously released him when she went all time vortexy and as for his regenerations either 1 of 2 things happened, he took over a body of a timelord baby before the timewar (prof yana said he was found as a baby) or he stole some power from the doctor.....anyone notice the master had his hand and could have stole a regeneration somehow.....or maybe some other reason will be used just watch it and see :)

Quite possibly he got a new set during the Time War. IIRC Borusa offered him some in the Five Doctors, could be he helped them out.

then again the last time we saw him he was sucked into a black hole so how he got here in the first place is a mystery.
