I have written YouTube in support of Thunderfoot's channel and removed video and have asked that my channel and account be suspended if YouTube fails to rectify their action or provide a rational defensible reason for their action.

I know some news reporters who would actually consider doing a story on this. Whether their station approves the story or not is something else entirely.
However, I'm sure YouTube doesn't want the negative media coverage. They should really clean up their act if they know what's good for them.
Roenazarrek, this doesn't really matter because the Code of Conduct is worded pretty vaguely, to the point that practically ANYTHING could be considered a violation. I'd say that using the one thing that seems to really get a response and action from YouTube seems like the best call.
You could actually determine the presence of a bot voting style via pretty basic statistical analysis. Youtube would only need to compare the rating data from one period of time to another, say the period where the bot was suggested to of been present, and then compare the overall ratings in the 2 time periods to see if they differ beyond chance in either how low/high they are rated or in frequency with which they are rated in a given period of time
In 2008/9 it seems people are spending more time trying to fight censorship than actually disributing their opinions which is why Youtube was created in the first place!!!

We could just create a new youtube style website. Everyone pitches in and it becomes the first OPEN SOURCE social video hosting site. We will allow complete freedom of expression with democratic votes for features and rules etc...No more bending over. No more videos getting taken down over somebody else's idea of right and wrong. I can appreciate the strategy of Thunderf00t by sending complaints to an agent who will most likely read his email, but I can also understand the predictable response of Youtube protecting their business model.
I mean, from a business standpoint...how could you survive the maintenance costs of protecting a social network from itself? Its far far easier to ignore the problem and put in human-firewalls.

I want free speech for the brilliant Thunderf00t on this forum. He educates so many. I always thought it was great of youtube to to a part of the facilitation of such valuable brilliant information.

I know some news reporters who would actually consider doing a story on this. Whether their station approves the story or not is something else entirely.
However, I'm sure YouTube doesn't want the negative media coverage. They should really clean up their act if they know what's good for them.

Roenazarrek, this doesn't really matter because the Code of Conduct is worded pretty vaguely, to the point that practically ANYTHING could be considered a violation. I'd say that using the one thing that seems to really get a response and action from YouTube seems like the best call.

You could actually determine the presence of a bot voting style via pretty basic statistical analysis. Youtube would only need to compare the rating data from one period of time to another, say the period where the bot was suggested to of been present, and then compare the overall ratings in the 2 time periods to see if they differ beyond chance in either how low/high they are rated or in frequency with which they are rated in a given period of time
