These e-tools are nicely compact. But if you really need to dig something slightly bigger, like a shooting position/foxhole for example, i would get a old school entrenching tool which is heavier. I myself own a swedish army tool and its russian counterpart. The swedish one also has a nicely curved handle and is very comfortable to dig with. Sucks though that they are quite alot longer. I hope someone will make a heavier style entrenching tool with a nice long telescopic handle for comfort.

How come there are so little videos on this thing. Just got mine and will be ordering a second. This thing is great, lighter than the gerber and the special forces shovel. Glock started out making e-tools, not guns and if you're a fan of a glock pistol you'll love this tool. This IS the e-tool of the austrian armed forces.

The saw is a pull or rip blade. So you should only apply force when you are pulling it towards you. Not on the push stroke.

I came close to getting a army surplus shovel but held off. Glad I did, cause after I saw the Glock E tool I was sold. It's lighter, and can be used for other tasks besides digging. Plus the E tool was only $15 more dollars than that surplus shovel.

Well with an e-tool, that extremely durable edge can be used in close quarters combat situations, and can withstand the beating digging in the ground gives it.

@jabara83 I don’t know about in the US. But most gardeners in the UK sharpen the blades of there digging tools. It makes for simpler and faster digging. As for solders it also gives you another weapon. The question should be why would you not sharpen the blade.

Chris I to live around this clay soil and can back you up on how hard the clay can get !! Here in michigan I can get like concrete, Im sure you have seen this !! I use the G.I. tri fold had it for about 22yrs really like this glock though going to buy one ! I own one of there knives wouldnt trade it for the world, holds a freakin edge like you wouldnt believe !

No the saw does not rattle in there because it is mounted on a polymer piece that secures it in the handle when stored and when in use.

Not a huge fan of Glock but I might be a big fan of that Etool. Pretty rugged and all around use item. I have a trowel and gerber tree saw in my pack but that etool could very well replace them. My dad who was a Marine near the DMZ in Vietnam said that anyone going into the bush should have some kind of entrenching tool.

Cold Steel makes an excellent special forces shovel. If you want a shovel that has a non- collapsible handle that is the one I would buy.

Well this is a cheap DXG flip style camera.. I would suggest not buying a DXG because the audio is not the greatest. Im thinking about getting the JVC Everio model cam.

Nice review Chris! You definitely demonstrate the durability of the Glock E-Tool! I have considered getting one for quite some time, but my old style USGI with the wooden handle model is still holding up. I may retire it for the Glock someday soon. Thanks for sharing this!
