  • A wonderful gift from East LA. Keep up the great job!

  • 152-0 thumbs up. Good reason why.

  • Saw them a few months back because Leo Kottke opened for them. They absolutely sucked. I wish they would have let Leo play for 3 hours.

  • Got to hang out backstage and on the tour bus with these guys at Arco on 3/3/11. Man they are cool, layed back dudes!

  • ya vi a don david hidalgo tocar el piano, el acordeon, la guitarra, la jarana y el violin, y me encanta como toca, pero lo que mas me encanta es su voz, dulce y melodiosa.

Grcacias david por compartir tu talento

  • @Srkaustiko Multi-talented Genius!

  • la mejor banda

  • I've always liked Los Lobos. Such a "different" sound from them! Their music always makes me feel good.

  • my names emilyyy :)

  • Sooth my heartbreak away with that fiddle. Love this song. Los Lobos have a song for the good times, the bad times and everything in-between. Take me home Boyle Heights!!!

  • If Los Lobos came out in the late 60s, David Hidalgo would be listed among the best rock guitarists ever - he's as good as any of them, just not as publicized.

  • My late teens & all my twenty's went with a soundtrack of Los Lobos! Trips to the desert, cruising Hollywood and hanging out at Manuel's for a Hollenbeck special! I miss my hometown, and I miss the luxury of seeing Los Lobos when ever they played in L.A............. Love you, Los Lobos! My favorite American Band!

  • Seeing this brings a smile to my face. The boys looked so young. David Hidalgo has been blowing me away for years. Greatness.

  • Gracias a los dioses de la musica por los lobos.

  • favourite los lobos song!! For some reason i jus cant stop listening to it no matter how hard i try!! LOVE IT

  • just noticed the fretted fiddle.

  • Daaamn!! Shreds the violin!!

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe the best band in america, certainly one of the best that most peopple have never heard of.

  • The most underrated and underappreciated band of our time.

  • How good are these guys!!!!!!!!!!! Such a unique sound and total mastery of their craft. I saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1989/90. Bouncers made us sit down for the whole concert. Intolerable cruelty. All i9 wanted to do was to get up and bop along. How can you sit still to this sound???????????

  • Hard to believe this was 20 years ago!

  • Excellent. Los Lobos rocks. They are brilliant. No Question!

  • EXCELENTE BANDA NO PARA CUALQUIERA..SICARIUS

  • Had the entire Austin City Limits show that this is excerpted from on VHS, THe VCR broke and that tape was inadvertedly left in the machine. The VCR got repaired but the shop lost or recorded over the video. Never got over losing that tape. Never got an opportunity to re-record that show! Absolutely one of the best bands ever....!

  • Mr Hidalgo is one of the Greats. Trust me .

  • Great, underrated song.

  • never mind i found it Id been staring at it without comprehending///if anyone else wanted the title...its called The Neighborhood and like all lobos its near perfect

  • @larryharrison11

couldn't agree more. the harmonies kill on this song.

  • i love this band, and Mr hildago is as close to being a god as a human can be in my eyes, but cant seem to find this trac on any of my albums could someone please give me the name of the album

  • When I searched for Los Lobos "Emily" I thought, "what are the odds I'll find the one they played on Austin City Limits about 20 yrs ago", and here it is.

This is freakin' sweet, those guys are the real deal, and this old clip took me back nearly 2 decades.

  • YEEEE HAAAAA get that violin going and the drumming...his voice goes well with it too. Top Blokes!

  • Their look, their music and everything is great in Los Lobos

  • This thread is pitiful,,,who gives a rat's ASS what they LOOK LIKE!!!! You IDIOT!!! They won THREE Grammy's for their MUSIC,,,,not their wardrobe,,,,crawl under a rock and DIE!!!!

    Sam, Towson, MD

  • i haven't met anyone who hasn't liked Los Lobos. i guess i've been hangin' with some good people!

  • That guitar break gives me chills. Great stuff!

  • I wonder what they will be wearing when they play for president borack obama next week?? lol!!

  • This band has amazing power. Hidalgo would have been the one guy who could have filled in for jerry after his death. Which is of course, replacing the irreplaceable.

  • @KayDubpdx Bold statement. I like Hidalgo more than Jerry, but I don't think anyone can fill in for Jerry. Although Bob Weir and crew did a great job this last tour.

  • I love these guys....their music is like no other. To the clown commenting about their look, this music aint about looks. Go listen to your Hanson albums

  • look schmook...why don't you listen?! what do you want them to look like? Poison? dumb comment.

  • A great and underated talent. Los Lobos never quite had the right look but they sure can play.

  • hardly underrated. David Hidalgo on Bob Dylan's new album? they're huge. and their look is perfect.

  • @peginamargarita They ARE underrated, let me tell you. These guys should be huge. I've seen them 3 times so far (including an acoustic only concert) and they sound better than any band i've seen live. They're very well respected by musicians, but for some reason not as big in the public eye. Oh, and the last concert I went to they took requests for over half the concert and then came to the bar down the street after the show.

  • I drove across Newfoundland to see them and 4 other bands including Great Big Sea play in St. John's NL. The fans keep yelling for La Bamba throughout their entire show. As a Newfie, I was totally pissed and embarrassed at their ignorance! This band rocks! They have so many great tunes. Great Big Sea is a good band but Los lobos shows it's many influences. They could adapt to any music style including newfie!

  • Great band. Even better live than on the recordings

  • Jeff Lynne and David Hidalgo are two of my favs of this sort of muscial insight...two of another sort are Ted Hawkins and Iggy Pop

  • chingada m_dre

give David a rubber band and beer can and he'll play it!!!!

    este vato se las rifa!!

  • i remember this show!! does anyone have "mas y mas" from this same show? and how about "CHARMED"from LIVE AT THE FILLMORE?

  • man how many instrruments do t hey no how to play

  • A hell of a lot. David alone can play everything that you see on stage. Not all at once, of course, but you catch my drift.

  • I'm amazed at how close this sounds to the recorded version. So many artists I've seen live never quite sound like their album version.

  • I love " the Neighborhood " cd..great road trip music...especially when going through west Texas to Tempe, Az at night...The Wolves! The Wolves!....Angel Dance is brillant like Emily as well! ..

  • The only word I can use to describe this is "priceless!"

    Mark Fadden

  • Los Lobos is a great great band!!they can play anything they want to play and play it with anybody!!

  • @nitetrainwayne with their music they cross lines (ie cultural

borders) which is as beautiful as the music is ...

    and it is beautiful, no?

  • David Hidalgo is INCREDIBLE. I love this song. I cant believe my eyes that he can play fiddle AND sing almost perfectly AND then rip that hair tingling guitar solo. Pure talent. Buy that man a beer

  • 10-4 that UFO. He's as talented as anyone ever in my book - David Hidalgo, Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, Robert Earl Keen, and Jim Lauderdale - my all time favorites.

  • Agreed. David can play just about anything under the sun.

  • Los Lobos, Great music and down to earth guys. When David is playing look at his eyes, he goes into a Zone. Best band ever..

  • true, he barely acknowledges the audience, he kinda stares down or on his guitar...very humble guys all of them.

  • Being a lifelong fan of the Wolves, my least favorite album is "The Neigborhood"..which is to say that there are 4 great songs(Emily, The Giving Tree, Little John of God & Be Still) on this album, as oppose to 7 great songs on every other Lobos album, this song I have in my car all the time and just sing along with Dave

  • Greg...no love for Down on the Riverbed or the title track? ;)

  • Nah, not really..don't get me wrong, I love the band like their my brothers, but, I'm very critical of the band too. I never talk smack of them, but I was PISSED when Colossal Head came out.. I thought "I waited 4 years after KIKO, and this is what they made?? . They took one song off "The Neighborhood" thats is on the 4 cd collectors kit called "till the hand falls off the clock, I love that song!

  • PISSED! shame on you! ..collosal head had some killer tracks!! ..let me refresh your memory..revolution.manny's bones.birds gonna fly. and the great MAS Y MAS !! ..so your loco...

  • eh....its ok, its was well used in the film 'mi familia', but the whole record is a bit of a letdown...but, its a fantastic album by any other band, i have high standards for lobos

  • This is by far my favorite group of all time, I love everything about Los Lobos. They've opened my eyes to so much over the past three years of really listening to their music! Thanks for posting your collection of videos Jab!

  • David Hidalgo has an incredible voice and as you see here, is a gifted on the fiddle and guitar --all in one song and all live.

  • Never seen Louie with a pony tail. Get a job hippie! ;)
