  • We watched the first vid today in science and I think the second tomoro DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID

  • best animation

  • My suite mate is having sex very loudly in the other room while I'm watching this. It's rather fitting.

  • Youenjoymyself, exactly, just saying instinct doesn't explain anything, something is driving it.

  • this was very amazing~!i was saying still while watching this

  • what drives instinct? and why?

  • @carlosZ1981

dna is a macro molecule that just so happens to replicate..and cells divide. so, multi cellular forms result. from jellyfish, to flowers, to elephants.

  • how does it know to do this? and why? why does it want to grow and keep forming and sustain life? amazing.

  • @carlosZ1981 The same reason we know and are compelled to have sex and reproduce...the same reason a dog chases a cat, a cat a bird, a bird a worm...instinct.

  • doctors

  • The approximate distance between the earth and the sun changes (on average) by 82,000 miles per day. So much for the inch theory.

  • Cool

  • Yep,,that is amazing for sure.

  • Thank you for visualizing this for me... I was having issues with the word-only slides in my Bio lectures.

  • Thats pretty fucking cool

  • coooool

  • Awesome animation !!! And very educational.

  • hey what happens to the histones during dna replication?

  • muslikid: during DNA replication, the histones are not there. There are there only when the DNA has to be packed into chromosones. After creation of the new cells, the histones go away.

  • just before the replication, histones (composed by 8 subunits) are disassembled; after the local replication, histones quickly link again with new 2 DNA molecules .

  • Histones are not present yet, replication of DNA happens before the formation of a chromosome.

I am currently reading the chapter on DNA and RNA in my biology text book.

  • i am speechless with shock and awe.

thats why i love the scientists and hate religion

  • Religion was made to direct people to some people's believes.. I don't remember correctly, I think in the Middle Ages, churches were selling some kind of tickets. When someone bought one, his sins were cured.

  • @Giannoug: I believe they called indulgention or something. chears to Greece from Republic of Srpska!

    @boomachine1- :)

  • LOL

  • indulgencies i think they were called. it was big in spain

  • Same here.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing, leads to more questions like how that machine knows to do that and why it decides to do instead of nothing.

  • there is no "why" and "how" and "know."

How does your car know to turn the driveshaft when the pistons move up and down? Why does it inject gasoline into the pistons only at one point in their cyclical movement?

The molecules, cofactors, and assembly elements simply do the only thing they CAN do.

  • a surprising video

  • i'm totally speechless~ thank you!!!!

  • "viable and functional at each stage, is a flagrant abuse of common sense."

Common sense said the world was flat once, common sense said that you can stone your children or sell them as slaves. Common sense isn't getting us very far when trying to understand these things.

    amazing video

  • Umm common sense would seem to indicate, in this case, that you believe whatever historical fairytale you are fed or suits your purpose. A flat earth is not common sense to me and was not to many and the most ancient cultures of the world. As for slaves and stoning both are to my common sense absolutely unconscionable at all times at all places and have nothing to do with me. Where do they fit in?

  • Hmm, and the idea that a jolly bearded guy, sitting on a cloud made it all IS common sense?

  • Sorry i did not mention this "bearded guy" you are creating a false choice to strengthen your position. Why do you need to do this? You have me in the wrong pigeon hole. Maybe it is you that believes silly things!

  • hey zach and vickie

  • this video is the best video i have seen in my life haha

  • In science we must start with a working model and theory. From there we can work to confirm or debunk it.

  • woaahh.. amazing.

  • it is almost like the dna is the real organism, and the human body is a huge city.

  • This is very nice work. Really interesting and beautiful to watch.

  • I like this vedio....

Its very interesting & we will get good knowledgy from this vedio

  • what a great video.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is so awesome. I can't stop watching it.

  • k bueno este video bien motivador para la gente que estudia biología, ojalá cuando lleve esta materia de biología molecular sea tan bravo como lo que aca ponen buenazoooooooooooooooooo

  • the sole fact that you find it surprising that you are actually a machine, and a machine ONLY, does not induce anything related to god, but you are serving a good cause due to that very detail: showing humanity that no matter what science reveals, ther will be always an explanation why god prevails. hence why all believers are enemies of humanity.

  • An evidence on evolution, and its relevance to mostly inviable trials and errors, is that such american comicgrown stunningly uneducated creationists can exist and flourish in their toy world, where 4bit to 2bit is "doubling", where dna is "just" c t a g, where the earth is flat and being held by four elephants, and where fire is a shadow cast by bad souls.

  • teşekkürler süper bir video

  • nasıl mükemmel yaratılmışız.Süper bişey ya

  • BRILLIANT!

  • Wow this is SOOOO intresting. I'm only 16 years old and you have no idea how much I'm into this it's my passion. I want to get into medical school and one of my major goal is to find a cure for cancer. THANK YOU so much for this video!

  • this is being linked in via UFO-ET disclosure websites and how we have been altered over 1000s of years of abductions etc. suggest u google search for open minds forums

  • lol what are you talking about?

  • hold me

  • "hold me" lol

  • brilliant illustration - I love the background sounds and how all of the molecules were vibrating...

  • I could have designed better.

  • Unfreakingbelievable. Amazing powers of self-organization.

  • Muito bom, valeu por upar.

  • Thank you

  • Thank you

  • i love this.

  • slikind

you obviously have no idea the time involved in evolution. The dna that has defects that would inhibit this process would definitely not be passed on. So only cells that can perform this vital fuction can survive.

  • Their is no fucking way this is a product of evolution....

  • Just because you don't understand it... *eyeroll*

  • funny thing is, it perfectly explains evolution. Then again, you learn this in a collage level class and im shure you are probably a drop out.

  • First of all it's "college" and "sure". are you sure you're not the drop-out? GOD IS REAL.If earth was 1 inch further or closer to the sun life would not be possible, if the atmosphere was different by 1% of it's compounds, life would not be possible. if we had no moon, if days were shorter/longer, if the angle if the planet's axis was off by 1 degree, there would be no such thing as life. Everything is too perfect to have just happened randomly.

  • "If earth was 1 inch further or closer to the sun life would not be possible"

    LOL

  • "LOL" it's true. it would make either too hot or too cold. also the days would either be too long or too short.

  • 1. One inch doesn't make any difference at all.

    2. Day length is defined by the planet's rotation speed around itself, not by its distance to the sun.

  • I'm sorry to inform you but the composition of the earth's atmosphere has changed dramatically throughout earth's history. Did you know that for a significant portion of life's history (i.e. a billion years or so), oxygen was present in far lesser abundance in our atmosphere? In fact, the gradual increase in oxygen caused the extinction of many early prokaryotic organisms. Needless to say, the earth's atmospheric conditions have changed drastically since the dawn of life.

  • actually Oxygen was a lot more abundant. not less. Im a biologist. and I was making a point not giving facts. life just seems far too complex for it have just happened. What about hundreds of different people writing about chirst as he lived? you think all those hundreds of people are all false whitnesses? There were actually 12-20 gospels of christ (found)from all around and the best 4 were used for the bible. do you think all those authors got together and wrote the same story together?

  • Oxygen was not present in the early earth atmosphere. As a matter of fact, considering the early earth atmosphere was primarily a reducing one, there was an early advent of chemolithotrophic reducing metabolism. Only when phototrophy developed (much later) did oxygen become a greater portion of the atmosphere.

  • oh... Ive always thought it was the other way around. This is why im a biologist, not an ecologist. thanks

  • a biologist, not an ecologist? are you serious? what half-assed program gave you a degree in Biology? that single fact is one of the major tennents of BIOLOGY...of which ecology is a specialized field

  • Im microbiology, it has nothing to do with ecology

  • yeah i am a mutt. 50% english, 25% dutch, 12.5% irish, and 12.5% french. how did you know???

I work with viruses and bacteria. I reilerate: my job has nothing to do with atmospheric components. you are a full breed.

  • Thats so cool the DNA works like a assembly line. Awesome :)

  • I watch this and it just confirms the more to me that God designed it all.

  • Which god are you talking about? Whichever one, there is no reason to believe in any of them, as there is not a single shred of evidence to support the existence of a god. No evidence at all.

  • UH! didn't you just watch one?

  • uh, no?

  • Jesus Christ, by him where all things made that are made.

  • if you say so... =_=

  • "there's probability in infinity and our existence is explained by it" Oh so wrong. Mathematicians have calculated the probability abiogenesis is ZERO. Look up William Dembsky and Plaisted. Nothing comes from nothing. The laws of physics prove this: Newton. Thermodynamics: all things move toward entropy (decay and chaos) such as the heat death the universe is experiencing. Complexity, interdependance, symbiosis are the result of intelligence, not entropy. The source is God, ofcourse.

  • only nothing can come from nothing, and if there was just 'something' that would require a decision maker (couldnt exist), the only possibility is infinite chaos. in a place where there's everything possible we would definitely occur. your thinking is based on scientific laws that exist just within this bubble universe, but there's more than just this one. you've cut yourself short just saying it's some thinking god thing that did it all, how is that an ultimate explanation of everything?!

  • Entropy increases in _global_ terms (the universe), but local conditions can be reversed: organisms use energy sources like the sun to decrease their entropy.

Mathematical probabilities refer only to large numbers of events and are not useful for single events. Example: The probability that your parents met and conceived you is extremely minimal.

Natural selection creates complexity: a few complex structures exist/survive longer than the less-structured rest.

  • this has helped me with my study. thanks. so awsom

  • i am so in awe of this..i love the sound effects too :D

  • Wow! This is so amazing!

  • god, do you realize if we eventually REALLY understand how all this works we could regenerate arms by like telling DNA to regenerate an arm? it's like a whole other language lol

  • true... its like a computer language, a computer uses 1's and 0's and us humans use A,G,T,C. Basically humans have twice the capability of computers, no matter what the hardrive is (computers) or how much brain prentile is used...

  • 1. The genetic alphabet is not unique to humans.

    2. The AT-CG encoding means that the DNA can store 2 bits of information per base pair, i.e. four possible values versus two.

    3. This has no real relevance regarding capabilities. Harddrives can store much more information in the same space.

  • Wow, you really think you know EVERYTHING. I am a microbiology major at michigan state university and I still believe that God created everything. He created science himself to test the faith of us humans. He wants it to be hard to believe. Not to say that God or christianity is far fetched, but to God, the fact that we can love something(or Him) so mind blowing and inconceivable makes the love that much better and stronger.

  • True. Look at how complex everything is, but still very simple to learn for us. And I really believe there is something/someone that we call god that created all this. Science and Religion really DO go hand in hand!

  • "He wrote once that when he looked through a telescope at the spinning planets, he could hear God's voice in the music of the spheres. He held that science and religion were not enemies, but rather allies - two different languages telling the same story, a story of symmetry and balance... Heaven and Hell, night and day, hot and cold, God and Satan. Both science and religion rejoiced in God's symmetry... the endless contest of light and dark."

    ~Angels & Demons

  • First time to see such animation, it helps really.

  • Fucking cool

  • AMAZING, love the animation

  • Sweet... love science.

  • that was good!

  • That's exactally how DNA replication is. It's easier to understand.

  • wow!

  • Incredible.

  • Awesome. How far down does the rabbit hole go?

  • It stops at God and started with God

  • lol, "God"

  • how sad your "lol" is. This life isn't worth missing out on God.

  • Your usage of the word is amusing. Let me guess, Bible Belt? You're certainly sounding very sure about your beliefs and definitions, and that everybody shares or at least knows about them...

  • If I wasn't seeing Lies proceed no further out of my mouth, or Lust fleeing away from me, or hate and strife no more, or thievery, or unthanfulness, or what ever thing is left seperating me from being like Christ, I wouldn't have boldness to say "My belief is that Jesus stops men from ever sinning again. that is His power and if you seek him, look for that change in your life" I cannot force God to make someone believe what God has made me see, God must open the eyes and ears.

  • That looks incredibly complex. Single cell animals couldn't possibly be the first lifeform that appeared.

  • Ahhh... but do you think that all of these amazing events on such a microscopic level just happen? How do protiens know to work together to copy DNA... Its obvious that life is far to complex and perfect to just happen spontaneously. God created all with microscopic precision. It really blows my mind that some people are so ignorant to think that He is a "delusion".

  • I completely agree!!!!

  • Don't be blow away by their ignorance more than having compasion on them. It is not out of the relm of possability for you or I to be likewise ignorant (according to God's will and power)

  • There is no knowledge, at least not on the lowest level. How does a mechanical lock "know" that it has to

open for a specific key? Because of its structure. Structure defines function, and natural selection sorts

out the structures that can perform a specific task better than other structures.

This is your choice when you encounter this complexity: You can either label it as "God's work", which

basically means "I can't comprehend it so it must be incomprehensible for everyone, because ...

  • Well think of it this way. I say no one has a Free will to Choose their hearts desire. God gives every man their heart's desire. Your desires are not a random Key hole-fit explain it away science, it is spiritual and shows the power of God. Other wise, no one would do oposite of the norm within a community or environment. I maybe a product oof my environment, but I will need God's help to not set my heart upon the pleasures of this life more than the Love of God(Truth).

  • Huh? Personally I think that there's some sort of fine-tuned 'program' in our genes that controls our desires (the brain is for achieving them).

Varieties in a population strengthen it (just look at drug-resistant bacteria) - evolution again.

To overcome selfish needs many people just need some experience, brains and maturity.

  • Who "fine-tuned" it. and by what power is it "fine-tuned." A human can be Mentally retarded and still out perform a fully functional human being when it comes to Godliness. No one can choose to live Godly and PERFECT(as described in the bible) but God is perfecting a few souls. But most of the masses are made to be destroyed as they were apointed by God.

  • Fine-tuned by trial-and-error.

What do you mean with Godliness, Godly and PERFECT (emphasis yours)?

  • If "trial-and-error" is the trial or error? A man lives many days rich, has a beautiful wife and many kids that he enjoys, but never knows Goodness. answer= Error Why? because requires of every man's soul one day, to answer for his deeds. Not a single thing, ever done, goes unhid. All that a man does will be made known, including Repentance. If a man cannot repent of his beliefs in ungodliness, he will not stand at the Judgement of God.

  • a lot of typos sorry. "Not a single thing, ever done, is hidden, save except when God grants Repentance." If I advise you poorly in the things pertaining to God, your blood will be on my hands. If I say there is no God and I give you advice that leads you to your doom, no one can hold me to it because the only witness is dead. Atheism is not a brotherly love realm, a lot of wicked men hide there, but when Judgement in Righteousness is tought in truth, the wicked are exposed.

  • ... how could anybody understand it better than me?" Or you recognize that we have developed our intelligence only for a very small part of our universe, and that there are natural restrictions of how much we can grasp at once.

There are certainly effects and processes that seem to be coordinated by someone. Just because the idea of this "someone" makes you feel better about life, doesn't mean that it matches what actually happens.

  • This literally made my skin tingle - it is truly awe inspiring. To think this is happening everywhere. I have begun believing in creationism because I just cannot grasp how this sort of complexity would ever arise from pure chance. I do not believe in a "loving god" that has a place for us in the afterlife, but I do believe the basic building blocks of life were created by another power. Even if all that power did was create the first rudimentary cells and then leave us alone.

  • Read a book or two on evolution. Open your mind to the incredible length of time natural selection has been at work. When you're done, cap it off with 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins. Enjoy.

  • believing you must disprove something that you cannot makes you the more deluded. I can proove nothing, you can proove nothing, all we have is theories. i personally dont know what to believe, but the most common theory atm is that time existed before our universe(m theory etc), so pehaps a "god" kick started it all!.

  • no, because for something to create something that had to have come about somehow. the only explanation is that the multi/meta-verse is infinite chaos / everything. there's probability in infinity and our existence is explained by it being a more probable type of place for conscious beings to be able to ask these questions in. ultimately whatever god you come up with / could exist - would mean nothing on the larger scale of things

  • nice i can learn more about calls dude!

  • More please

  • this video is amazing!

  • That was superb, won't you post more? =)

  • Hiram: muy buen video, justo asi sucede la replicacion del ADN

  • that's sofa king cool

  • Great video! Any more like it?

  • amazing... nanotechnology is such a dangerous field... imagine if scientists invent something which unzips dna...?

  • fantastic imagery. thank you.

  • tell me pls, where i can download this video.

  • The life is beatiful....

  • I dont really understand the 2nd part...

  • just keep watching it, i had to watch it 5 times

  • I can see how this is related to my bio teacher's illustrations, except his was 2D

  • Amazing work, thank you!

  • Upload more of this kind of videos!!! LOL (learn on line)

  • Amazing video. Simplified, but with correct information. The first time I saw this I thought it was real! Wish they would go more in depth though.

  • I am amazed.
