Hell, she's just there as a replacement to begin with, and would never have been able to stand on her own merit.

Anette is a MILLION times more of a bitch than Tarja ever was, if you can call someone like Tarja, dedicated to the music while at the same time treated like a piece of shit , a bitch to begin with.
Anette is everything that "letter" complained about, plus more, and can't even sing well live. Thing is, 99% of that letter was untrue in Tarja's case.
You speak as if you can personally demonstrate "what Tarja became". What did she become? Is there something wrong about being dedicated to music, performing with passion, and singing like an angel?
Tuomas apparently projects all of his own shortcomings onto his victim, and people simply believe every word of it because it's easier than actually thinking.
Tuomas writes songs, yes, but Tarja is the one who sang them and made them what they became.

Her new albums are good, yes, but she was better in Nightwish because the material was better. Anette is doing great in Nightwish, and it really has been over 5 years since Tarja was sacked now, so I think it might be time to stop going on about it now and either listen to Nightwish with Anette or don't.
The COMBINATION of Tarja and Tuomas is what made Nightwish what is was. Tarja on her own sounds more like the old NW than does NW itself, which now sounds like a bottom feeding pop metal band. Tuomas tries to pretend it's like the old NW with certain songs, but they sound like crap, and Anette can't perform live, she has no stage charisma and her voice isn't that great, causing her to mess up the songs more often than not.
I most certainly do NOT listen to the new NW. I DO like some of Tarja's newer material though, she is blossoming into a good songwriter, and not just a performer anymore. Tuomas never allowed her an opportunity to use her talent in composition, HE wanted all the credit.

After Forever's first album did not sound like the last, and the same goes for Within Temptation, Sirenia and Tristania..... Tuomas thinks of Nightwish as his band and they all knew that, and whilst he lets people contribute to the music, the lyrics will always be his, and Tarja wasnt dedicated to Nightwish.
Prior to 1995, Tuomas always said that without Tarja, there WOULD be no NW. He was right.

You are a stupid fuck. The founding members are Tuomas, Tarja, and Emppu. Tuomas invited both Tarja and Emppu to join him in a project he was thinking of. The three of them recorded a demo, which contained the song Nightwish. They decided to name the band that same name, and began work on their first album, Angels Fall First, after inviting Jukka to join them for the album.
So yes, she was a much of a founding member as Emppu. You can't have a one man band.

The band was not originally metal. Tuomas had wanted to do "campfire music", but after hearing Tarja's powerful vocals he decided to try writing songs which could use her voice better, and chose metal as the style that would best suit her voice.

As far as rehearsals, Tuomas insisted that the band work on the instrumentals without the vocals, perfect them, THEN give Tarja the recorded instrumental tapes in order for her to work on the vocals on her own.
That is the way it worked from day one, and was obviously a successful formula that led to many great songs, both in the studio and live. I'm sure they rehearsed the songs prior to touring, in fact there are quite a few pictures and videos of exactly that.
Now if Tarja could walk onto the stage of Hartwell or anywhere else without rehearsing and perform like she did, and the band perform as tightly and perfectly as they did, then she must be a true musiclal goddess and the guys musical gods.
So it was your boyfriend Tuomas who wouldn't allow her to give her input to the songs while they were working on them, and refused to allow her to work on the vocals with the rest of the band. Then assholes like you blame HER for it.

One person does not make up a band. Regardless if Tuomas was the one with the original idea, it was Emppu and Tarja who ALSO formed the band, not just him. In terms of attitude problems, it was Tuomas who had a hair up his ass because Tarja wouldn't fall for him, and chose to love her husband instead of him. He turned the band against her with the help of his buddy (and "manager") Ewo, and the rest of the band fell for it, either because they themselves resented her popularity with the fans and were jealous of her, or because it was easier to go along with what Tuomas wanted. It was probably a combination of the two.

Anette on the other hand sounds like a medicore karaoke club singer, is often out of tune, and off tempo. She might fit with a pop band like her old band Alyson Avenue, but she sucks royal ass in NW, drains the music of any energy, and sounds like she's forcing herself to sing songs she really doesn't care for. She even said she never listened to metal before joining NW, and had never heard of the band before. Tarja helped CREATE the band and gave it it's character.

As far as "side projects", Tarot and Northern Kings are BANDS, not side projects, both of which which Marco is a key member of. Tarja never had ANY other band other than NW before they fired her. She occasionally did a Christmas concert and a few Christmas albums of classical songs, big woop. it's not the same as being an active member of other BANDS such as what Marco is doing and was doing at the time of her dismissal.

Tuomas fired Tarja because he couldn't get a piece of ass off her. What REALLY pissed him off was when she married someone else, things were never the same afterwards. After her husband told him to back off, she's married, Tuomas decided to fire her, exactly one year later behind the stage of the biggest concert they'd ever performed, right after she had just put on one of her best performances ever.

Tuomas might be the brains behind the music, but Tarja was the soul, and gave Tuomas' written notes their voice. Nightwish was a band, not a single person such as Tuomas, Tarja, or the rest of the band members.
It was that unique combination of talent that made the band what it was, but take away the voice of that combination and it isn't the same band anymore.
Queen without Freddy Mercury isn't the same band, nor is Nightwish the same band without Tarja.
Besides the fact Anette ruins the vocals to this song, it appears the entire band is playing it without energy, and the song sounds like it's being performed by a cover band that doesn't have the ability to play this song anywhere near as well as the original band.
Marco is trying too hard to fill in at spots, and sounds ridiculous.
In general, this performance sucks, especially when compared to the same song performed at Hartwell in Oct. 2005 with Tarja, ie. the End of an Era performance.
Tarja did not say she was leaving until Dec. 2005, and told the band she'd do one more album and one more tour with them. So instead of Anette on this last tour, it would have been Tarja.
Instead, they cruely fired her behind the stage of their last concert together, made into the "End of an Era" DVD, by handing her "the letter" and walking away from her.

Anette's gorgeous but I personally don't like her rendition of this song as much as Tarja's. Anette sounds as though she's forcing it and it's all too obvious that the song isn't suited to her vocal range. The songs she sings that suit her are beautiful; unfortunately this isn't one of them.

Annete has already in her short three years with the band caused them WAY more problems than Tarja did from 1995 to 2005. Tarja put up with a lot from the band, where Anette might go along just to keep her job, but gives them way more headaches with her lack of professionalism, her lackluster performances, and her money centered attitude. Hell, she's just there as a replacement to begin with, and would never have been able to stand on her own merit.

The COMBINATION of Tarja and Tuomas is what made Nightwish what is was. Tarja on her own sounds more like the old NW than does NW itself, which now sounds like a bottom feeding pop metal band. Tuomas tries to pretend it's like the old NW with certain songs, but they sound like crap, and Anette can't perform live, she has no stage charisma and her voice isn't that great, causing her to mess up the songs more often than not.

After Forever's first album did not sound like the last, and the same goes for Within Temptation, Sirenia and Tristania..... Tuomas thinks of Nightwish as his band and they all knew that, and whilst he lets people contribute to the music, the lyrics will always be his, and Tarja wasnt dedicated to Nightwish.

You are a stupid fuck. The founding members are Tuomas, Tarja, and Emppu. Tuomas invited both Tarja and Emppu to join him in a project he was thinking of. The three of them recorded a demo, which contained the song Nightwish. They decided to name the band that same name, and began work on their first album, Angels Fall First, after inviting Jukka to join them for the album.
So yes, she was a much of a founding member as Emppu. You can't have a one man band.

As far as rehearsals, Tuomas insisted that the band work on the instrumentals without the vocals, perfect them, THEN give Tarja the recorded instrumental tapes in order for her to work on the vocals on her own.
That is the way it worked from day one, and was obviously a successful formula that led to many great songs, both in the studio and live. I'm sure they rehearsed the songs prior to touring, in fact there are quite a few pictures and videos of exactly that.

In terms of attitude problems, it was Tuomas who had a hair up his ass because Tarja wouldn't fall for him, and chose to love her husband instead of him. He turned the band against her with the help of his buddy (and "manager") Ewo, and the rest of the band fell for it, either because they themselves resented her popularity with the fans and were jealous of her, or because it was easier to go along with what Tuomas wanted. It was probably a combination of the two.

As far as "side projects", Tarot and Northern Kings are BANDS, not side projects, both of which which Marco is a key member of. Tarja never had ANY other band other than NW before they fired her. She occasionally did a Christmas concert and a few Christmas albums of classical songs, big woop. it's not the same as being an active member of other BANDS such as what Marco is doing and was doing at the time of her dismissal.
Also, Emppu is a key member of Brother Firetribe.

Tuomas and Ewo) would schedule new concerts without first checking with Tarja, then telling her a few days before the concert was to take place that it was sold out?

Tuomas might be the brains behind the music, but Tarja was the soul, and gave Tuomas' written notes their voice. Nightwish was a band, not a single person such as Tuomas, Tarja, or the rest of the band members.
It was that unique combination of talent that made the band what it was, but take away the voice of that combination and it isn't the same band anymore.
Queen without Freddy Mercury isn't the same band, nor is Nightwish the same band without Tarja.

Besides the fact Anette ruins the vocals to this song, it appears the entire band is playing it without energy, and the song sounds like it's being performed by a cover band that doesn't have the ability to play this song anywhere near as well as the original band.
Marco is trying too hard to fill in at spots, and sounds ridiculous.
In general, this performance sucks, especially when compared to the same song performed at Hartwell in Oct. 2005 with Tarja, ie. the End of an Era performance.

yes, me too. i also cry everytime i watch this video. but i cry because she fucken killed the song. it's horrible. seriously she should stop singing with nightwish.

I'm not so attached to the idea of Tarja comming back 'cause i don't think that's gonna happen, but they really could get someone more like the band, Anette really doesn't match here, specially singing everdream; she takes all the feeling out of the song :S

Actually i was not too keen on the new vocalist till i watched her live.She sounds way better live than studio to me.She got powerful vocals live plus she is lively on stage.

None of the members were dedicated to the band, they all had and still have their own side projects.
The band itself created its own problems, ranging from jealousy over Tarja's marriage to her husband, jealousy of her popularity with the fans, and Marco's dislike of classical vocals. Why join a band with classical vocals if you don't like them...
Seems he was gunning for the lead singer spot when he was hired.

I am not against Anette, she is good with her songs and some old ones... but this one, she should definitely stay away from it. She just KILLED a masterpiece.

I loved this song with Tarja and I love this song with Anette. Both interpretaction are fantastic. Maybe even interesting with mrs. singer Olson (hehe... so if is mr. Maestro Holopainen, why don't make mrs. singer Olson? and other :P)

I really do wish Nightwish all the best, even Anette. It isn't her personally that I do not like but her voice. I don't mean this in a negative way, it just doesnt speak to me and bring me the same feeling as before. I just can't get into her style at all after hearing these with Tarjas' hauntiness..
