@namnguyen1969 well, it gives people some option. otherwise, transporting several kettlebells could be a problem. i agree, nothing "replaces" regular kettlebells. but this is fun to have.
i've owned PowerBlock DBs since they were called "Smart Bells" and generally like that product.
respectfully, as a certified KB coach, i would NEVER NEVER NEVER advise anyone to buy this product-- frankly nor would i suggest that they purchase teh Jillian Michaels or Joe Weider product-- IME, as inconvenient as it may be to be bothered with adjusting the KB, the Pro-Style adjustable you showed is, along with US Kettlebells, the most viable.
because they both fit the standardized comp KB sizing
@androydnyc that sizing is important as it not only permits the athlete to transition to Girevoy Sport easily, but also permits uniform handling/ placements across the hand/ wrist/ forearm, the wider diameter spreading the load evenly.
additionally, due to the dynamic/ ballistic nature of the movements to which KBs lend themselves, i prefer a sturdier locking mechanism
finally, my LADIES are swinging 24kg after a few weeks-- my men well over 32kg-- so again ...
These are great for swings, but not much else. Absolute killers on the wrist in the racked position or advanced moves. Im looking to sell mine and just buy some regular KB's.
@Greenballed I do enjoy the kettleblocks very much. For me it boils down to transportability. I bring my kettleblock, along with my indian clubs, with me when I go on road trips. It takes up just a small space in my toyota matrix. Otherwise, I agree, they are not a replacement for the genuine article.
Nice review. I own the Powerblock dumbbells, and it's good to see Powerblock is consistent with their equipment. As I'm switching from GPP to SPP and looking to do coordination challenging workouts --kettlebells being the primary work in them.
Thanks for the comment on my Iron Master KB. I sell the PowerBlock KB at the shop I work and and you're right there are certainly advantages over the iron master (like being quite and feeling a bit more solid. I do feel like the IM is a little more comfortable. The Power Blocks certainly are the faster change over for sure. The Iron master is a bit cumbersome.
@Rebel; I don't understand what you mean by "being quiet" & "more solid" than the Ironmaster. When the Ironmaster is locked tight, it feels like one solid piece & is as quiet as one solid piece.
@lazur1 I agree. I was going to sell my Ironmasters for these after the fact, but ended up keeping the IM's because they are perfect for me. The handle width and height ensures that my wrist is straight. It resembles a KB more than the Kettleblocks. When it comes to purchases, make sure it fits YOU, not someone else. I also like the fact that the IM are solid metal and not plastic.
I can clean and push-press a IM, but anyone able to do it with a Kettleblock? The handle may be in the way
People who make these adjustable kettlebells don't know the true concept about kettlebells and have never used kettlebells before.

It doesn't take all that long for a large, healthy, motivated male to train himself into needing more than 55 lbs for the 2-handed KB swing.

@lazur1 Indeed you are correct. As I have figured out after spending some time on this, and other kettlebells.
