I was aware of the Liam Lynch connection, but did he also write the content for Tenacious D? I was under the belief that he was just the director, and that Jack Black and Kyle Gass wrote the songs. If he did write the songs for Tenacious D, then he did it better in those earlier funnier films. Also the performance and execution of the "metal song parody" thing that this doesn't quite pull off. Thanks for commenting on my initial comment though.
