I have had the pleasure of meeting Robyn and she is a wonderful advocate and inspiring example of what people with AS can achieve with hard work, knowledge and determination. I will make sure I attend one of her talks in the future and recommend others who have the opportunity do the same. Keep up the good work!
(I love your videos!) I thinks it's so great that you're working with kids like you. Kids with Autism/Aspergers/PDD need so much support. I know I always acted quirky as a young child in kindergarten. But since it was still a relativly new diagnosis in the DSM-IV, no one knew what was wrong with me. I plan to get tests ASAP. I've been taking online tests, documenting and doing research, so, I hope all goes well. You are so admirable! And PS, I want to listen to that song. I really do. :D
I am also "autistic". I am 16, and i was diagnosed at age 3. I am hoping to be an Artist/Photographer. In my mind i am 100% normal. I do not show any autistic traits at all. I am very good with my eye contact. I smoke/drink and i always go out with my friends. None of my friends would ever guess I'm autistic. I see myself as a normal 16 year old doing what every other normal teenager does.
Well I guess if you meet someone else in your own league, your self esteem rises then you want to learn more about ASD. But with me, I couldn't find any people in my league, so I posted the video to find people like me. Well in terms of you being normal, well in my book yes you are normal, but with you, it's what you think is normal. Well thanks you soo much for the video response I great!!!
So you're a mentor & trainer, hmm, I've actually been thinking wanting to get into that, so well done, the autistic world needs someon like you. Well now I only know too well that there are many people out there like me, but it wasn't evident because as I said, if you watch documentries, talk to professionals etc, the autistic world is put down. But noraml is what YOU think is normal, like for me its people who have very few symptoms of ASD & who don't see themselves with a disorder, disability
