Ok this is extrememly fucked up. on my first play through I didn't need to buy any keys because I had more than enough like you did. But on my second play through I had to buy a key cause I didn't have enough wtf!. And I lost my big shield when I bought the key! RAGE!!

@4everOscar Yeah, there was actually a microphone in the famicom controller (if i remember correctly) and you could just shout to it and it would kill all the pols voices!

@john2114505 on the Famicom (japan's NES) they had a mic in the controler. so i think you had to talk on it to blow into the mic to kill pols voice in one hit thank god for AVGN

Yes, the "10th enemy has the bomb" thing is wrong. I'm actually playing the japanese version now and it says "find the key for lions" or something like that. Well, my japanese is not that good yet so i'm not completely sure, but it makes more sense than the american version I guess. Also thanks for a great walkthrough!

I hate lvl 8 when I was a kid I was 3/4 done with this dungeon got the magical key and magic book and almost had beaten the game 100 but i kept dying on the room with the stupid fire breathing statues and the 7 blue darknuts and then one day after countless attempts i finally put down the game and told myself to ask my friends for tips but I had forgotten them because I was loving the new Link's Awankening ( Original, it was new at the time ) and I forgot about the game and beat 5 years later

Never liked the Magic Book. I like the way the Magic Wand's ray could be shot endlessly without the book's flame having to disappear before firing again, so I always considered it a downgrade, for my tastes.

Red Candle is awesome, just keep setting stuff on fire with it, it's strangely satisfying!

I have the japanese version and it seems to be much harder to me. The arrows don't work on the Pols Voices and the Darknuts are harder to hit as they keep turning to me in an instant as I want to hit them. And theese Wizrobes seem to have rapid fire mode as they shoot multiple times so fast, that you have to be very careful.

There are three types of bubbles, the white, blue, and red. the white momentarily disables your sword, the red takes it away until you got to a fairy spring, or get hit by a blue bubble, of which restores your use of the sword.

out of all the dungeons i played so far, this was the most epic. when i got to the end, i had only half a heart, i killed the poes and got two fairies from them. when i got to the boss, i only had half a heart again, i got the heart container, and got the last piece of the triforce and now....GANON! I actually skipped getting the key, it's too hard, and I figured that it's not worth it. You only need to buy one more key in order to complete the game if you follow these awesome walkthroughs.

Darknuts (darkknights?) aren't that hard if you know how to deal with them. Just run ahead of it, wait, and then just before it turns to get to you, strike. It'll run into your sword. The fireballs are the problem.

@ hifive150: That's funny. There are only 2 pieces of the triforce in this version of Zelda...so I guess that doesn't make sense. Of course, you have to allow for things missed in translation from Japanese to English ;) Also, it makes a lot more sense if the triforce of wisdom was anathema to Ganon, so he had someone else break them into 8 pieces and defended them w/ the bosses of each dungeon to prevent any would-be hero (or captain save-a-ho lol) from procuring it to use it against him.
