How to Surf the Internet Anonymously (Tor Project)

I'm reading how tor works and it honestly isn't secure at all, if you are bouncing your connections with "volunteers" any one of those volunteers can snoop in on what you are doing. A VPN is still your best choice but a good vpn is so damn expensive. If you wish to torrent you need a good connection however if all you are doing is browsing then I suggest getting a free vpn (free vpns can also be insecure because you have to trust the provider of the vpn not to disclose your information)

@AkumaADemoncus They can snoop on what you do, but they don't know who is doing it. That's the point of TOR. Anonymity.

Why would you torrent using TOR? Like you said, just use a VPN. TOR is so you can browse without being able to figure out who you are, and although the relays are encrypted, the exit nodes can figure out what you're doing.

Also, VPN's will give you up in a heartbeat. Look up Topiary and Lulzec.

how come when i use tor project and use it to view youtube , i cant watch the vids because of the flash says its outdated ?

@MrCohibaboy all though you youtube also uses flash you need java in order to watch the videos... the tor browser blocks or disables java which you need to enable which you can do in the standard firefox settings i do believe. but its not reccomended when trying to be anon so only enable it when needed

@MrCohibaboy yeah i can imagine, tbh tor is one of the best anonymous free browsers when used with the correct settings :)
