  • I hate hearthland..

  • To suggest that NASA GISS, NOAA, the met office, and every major scientific academy in the world is lying about their evidence that we are the "most likely" cause of the current rate of change is frankly astonishing. Who has more money, the oil companies or climate change grant donors?? Exxonmobil made 155 billion dollars in PROFIT last year! Thats more than the whole australian economy put together!

  • Throughout the history of science, it has always been the skeptics who have debunked "the consensus," be it a flat Earth, the sun revolving around the Earth, the whole in the ozone layer being caused by Freon, the heterosexual AIDS epidemic, the health benefits of margarine (transfats), or the creation story in the Bible.

AGW...oops, sorry, I meant ACC (anthropogenic climate change) will eventually be revealed as a sham. But once a government program is created, it cannot be destroyed.

  • So the theory is that we should ignore it, if we can't change it?

Didn't I hear that same rhetoric when AIDS showed up..............so that nothing was done for years & it became a major problem.

  • 'Climate Change; is fiction from nuclear power: You are built of organic carbon!

  • Could you guys start posting some of the speeches on you tube or google video after these meeting so we can share them with our readers and friends.

If the left can have viral videos, why not us?

  • Very Simple.

If humans can control global temperatures it would be mankind's greatest scientific achievement. If we have this innovative technology available do we not have a moral obligation to keep the planet hot?

Ice tundras are desserts of potential biological diversity. If we have the technology, should we not release this trapped h2o and put it in play in the atmosphere?

Rain forest thrive in "warm & wet".

Rain forest die in "cold & dry".

  • people die in warm and wet...whats more important, a human being or a tree?

  • Ridiculous. People thrive in hot and wet, die in cold and dry.

Think of a tree as crop yield.

Whats more important? Food or ice.

  • Historically, global cooling has caused much more chaos and death than global warming. A perfect example is the period before the little ice age, then the little ice age. Which was more dangerous, the cooling or warming? Better crops, healthier and longer living population, less warfare, less disease are recorded in the period before the little ice age. When the little ice age hit, things went to hell.

  • That does not mean global warming is good though. Plus, it's more than just global warming, it's global climate destabalization. Some places will get extreme cold and others will get extreme heat. What we won't see as much of is the normal temperaures. The extremes will become much more common in years to come.

  • That's a bunch of nonsense. Temps swing all over the place, they always have, and they always will. Do a little research and stop echoing what that idiot Al Gore and other say.

  • What if they're right?

...And sure temps change a lot. All I was saying is that they will fluctuate even more than they currently are. I already explained this in my previous comment. Did you even read it?

  • Just type bad behind a Heartland Institute search in google. Greed is their game, they will do anything for money.

  • Sponsored by the Heartland Institute, whose main sponsor is ExxonMobile.

    Heartland's board of directors include

Thomas Walton is the Director of Economic Policy at General Motors.

--James L. Johnston is a former senior economist for oil company Amoco Corporation.

--Walter F. Buchholtz worked as ExxonMobil's Senior Issues Advisor.
