The Dark Knight was a masterpiece. Revenge of the Fallen was eye-candy and nothing more. Lots of explosions, hot girls in tight clothes, and poor humor. A forgettable popcorn flick.
@MRauTObt Of course I am, as are you, and all people. We're but flesh and blood and bone. We don't last forever. Properly preserved, even a waste of film like Revenge of the Fallen could last for centuries. However, I wouldn't ever advice it. If we were to preserve any piece of film to last several centuries, something like Lawrence of Arabia or Citizen Kane or some other cinematic wonder with any merit to it would be much more appropriate. Revenge of the Fallen is something I send to the sun.
I agree with them. This movie was near a masterpiece. I saw it like 3 times, it was by far one of the best movies I've EVER seen, and it was MUCH better than the 1st (which I also love too).
@MarshmallowPuffMan Top what? All you said is that it was amazing, which it clearly wasn't! The ending fight scene with the Fallen was only two minutes out of a two and a half hour movie! The unbelievably racist twins Mudflap and Skids received more screen time than the titular Fallen, and the rest of the movie was sex jokes, bad humor, slutty chicks walking in slow-motion and random explosions! "Amazing"? It was utterly forgettable!
@TheOmegaParadigm It was amazing. I really don't care what jokes were told, or the slutty chicks. The explosions, camera angles, and effects were amazing. The characters sucked. But the cinematography didn't.
@MarshmallowPuffMan The cinematography was good at times, severely lacking in others. For example, the battles between the individual Autobots and the Decepticons, like the fight between Bumblebee and Ravage in the finale, are so up close to the CG imagery that the actions flows like one big blur. The same thing with the fight between Optimus and the Fallen and Megatron. Not only was it incredibly short, but it was too close up. A wide shot would have been appropriate, but they did close-ups!
There isn't a first part. There are just 2 different TV spots titled 'Critical Acclaim', because they have movie reviews in them. This is just the 2nd one.

Glad to see someone else with a brain and a concept of good cinema. Anything'll pass as a "good movie" these days.
