The lyrics are brilliant satire, the energy is still there, and the melodies are really well crafted which is something that a lot of punk doesn't have. It's not pretentious, it's just smart. Rodney is the official singer, he's bald now. Joe started singing in the later albums. He's got plenty of hair. If possible, GO SEE HIM! He will take your breath away and his solo work will not dissapoint, he's such a talented guitar and harmonica player, his lyrics are beautiful, sad, funny, etc, and he's a very humble, fun performer. I love Joe Jack!
@cyclopsicle in the 80's about age 14 i used to send fan letters to DM and I'd always get personal replies from Joe, written on the back of other fans' envelopes, usually written from the road while riding in a van. wish i still had those. so cool of him to write back.

saw joe's solo show a few months back, he played this and a bunch of other great tunes acoustically. was a fantastic intimate little singalong. Joe is the best.
