No chemistry between him and Natalie Portman. The writing's godawful, and the special effects are pedestrian. And there's hours upon hours of the most boring fucking senate meetings and redundant politics imaginable. IMO 2 is worse than 1. At least The Phantom Menace is entertaining for kids.

Alright, I get it, the prequels were nowhere near as good as the Original Trilogy, but they are what they are. And I don't think they were bad. I actually liked them. After playing Homeworld and Dawn of War, I realized that Star Wars should look even better than those two video games put together. The direction Lucas was going with the prequels is that he wanted to make everything as alien and perfect as possible, especially humans! I can truely respect the prequels for that matter. In addition, I like the overall storyline of the prequels, too, but see them as a setup for the originals.
I forgot to mention that people would feel more connected with Luke because of seeing that there was a 50% chance of him not even getting a chance to live. Who could have died at childbirth now is a fully functional commander, as we see in the Battle of Hoth!

The Phantom Menace is just not a good film compared to the other films. I don't think that anyone will consider "Revenge of the Sith" as not at least a great film.. I like all 6 films, including the phantom menace!

In this case, the midichlorians are only prophets and representatives of the Force, not the Force itself. I think you should read the books. They are quite interesting.

Episode I wasn't great, but in my opinion, it was ten times the film Episode II was. Attack of the Clones was a whole new dimension of horrible, & is the only Star Wars film in which I can find no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I forgot to mention that people would feel more connected with Luke because of seeing that there was a 50% chance of him not even getting a chance to live. Who could have died at childbirth now is a fully functional commander, as we see in the Battle of Hoth!

It is possible that the Jedi could have fallen for being as strict as the Sith in Episode III, kind of like Jews during the time of Christ according to Christians. Luke is not that strict, and is Darth Vader's son.
That other baby who could have died at childbirth looked very good in that bathing suit!
Luke is the only witness of the Prophecy of the Chosen One and fulfilled it, although he doesn't realize it.

@SirGabriel2076 look im not big on prequel bashing but i wudnt see them first really, it actually reduces both trilogies if u see the prequels first. new viewers r gonna lose out on the exp of the greatest plot twist in cinematic history if they see the prequels first. the scene will just b Luke discovering what we already know as opposed to us learning it alongside him

@SirGabriel2076 they r total set up, u cudnt nor shudnt show them tot he uninatiated as their first SW experience. the force, lightsabres, Jedi etc nonoe of this is explained in the prequels bcos u r already shud have learned all of that in Ep IV. equally the impact of seeing the clone troopers is reduced if u don't know that they are going to be the Stormtroopers. Nor is Anakin's transformation ovr the course of the films and his entry intot he suit as compelling.

The Phantom Menace is just not a good film compared to the other films. I don't think that anyone will consider "Revenge of the Sith" as not at least a great film.. I like all 6 films, including the phantom menace!

I wonder what it would have been like if Lucas HAD made them chronologically, bcos technically u wud have just been going up in quality. @227060 One of the mistakes that has been commonly made by many people is confusing prophets with messiahs. They are very different. In this case, the midichlorians are only prophets and representatives of the Force, not the Force itself. I think you should read the books. They are quite interesting.

Also ppl can just read Wookipedia for this stuff since the EU is too big for any1 to handle

haha.... there's no reason to like the new movies. whiny, annoying lead characters, over-the-top special effects, semi-cohesive "love story"... the series was altered to cater to children and a wider audience (ie: females, people who don't enjoy sci-fi), and that's a fact. if anything, you're a true fan when you're able to step back from your fanboyism and say, "Hey, this isn't great..."

@edderkoppepigen uh.. what? its funny cuz star was episode 1 SUCKED, the prequels are terrible, but eps 1 and 2 are just so.. bad... its hard to choose which is worse... the actual event happening in this scene is that darth vader is torturing han with something that i assume is meant to burn his face, but the edit here is that it shows star wars episode 1 play, then han starts screaming. in other words, vader used episode 1 to torture han, haha, such a bad movie ><

Episode I wasn't great, but in my opinion, it was ten times the film Episode II was. Attack of the Clones was a whole new dimension of horrible, & is the only Star Wars film in which I can find no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
