@motoronna: a unipod to get the camera up above the crowd, and a camera with stabilization. A tripod wouldn't help much with the bouncing, slamming, surfing crowd all around.

@greg11gay It looked like some people were using tripods as if they were unipods, with the legs closed and the feet riding on their belts. I have a monopod, but didn't think to bring it. Cheers!
