Yes, the US Constitution is brilliant ( I`m from Germany and Poland ), that shows the stability of their democracy, and the German "Basic Law", inspired from the pain of the past and the ideas on the Londons Six-Power-Conference shows it.
But Daniel Hannan is not "awesome", he is an euro-sceptic and a RE-nationalist. He tries to destroy the European Union, maybe because Britain is more a 51th US state for the europeans as a part of the European continent and tries to block everything.
daniel hannan is a bad ass like ron paul, we need more politcians like this around the globe, everyone could be free and prosperous now it won't be perfect but it will be better than what most of us have at the current moment.
Wonderful man. I remember him quoting that bit about our Constitution in a Ron Paul video and had to know more about him. Liberty doesn't know national barriers thankfully, we can all gain knowledge from our friends in England.

The reality is, most people don't really want that deep down, no matter what they say.
This Guy is 100% correct. If Obama starts giving universal free healthcare etc, immigrants from muslim countries will pile in for the free benefits. This is how Europe is turning in to Eurabia.....................Beware America............keep the heathens out.
The U.S. as a "moral example"?? Well I personally am very afraid of american culture coming into my country, with all that sexual overliberation, drugs, soap operas and militarism.
@BaumerPaulGefreiter I suppose if your concept of American culture is "sexual overliberation, drugs, soap operas and militarism" then I agree with you. I would be afraid of that too. @BaumerPaulGefreiter Americans are not sexually libirated, you must be thinking of Italians or French. Drugs is not part of our culture, it is the world's problem, there is a drug epidemic in Iran right now. @bonfirejovi....The UK does not have a written constitution? May i suggest, my friend that you google the phrase Magna-Carta. I think you`ll find that a couple of guys called Washington and Jefferson did and came up with the present day US constitution.
daniel hannan is awesome i prefer British intellectuals they dont resort to annoying sarcasm and tell it like it is and they much more than americans dont buy into conspiracy mindsets. all over youtube all i see is nuts who go from video to video screaming that everyone they find who alex jones doesnt approve of is part of a conspiracy that theyre all in on to fuck you. they all have incentive to do what they do but that your assertions or not thought through and illogical
wow he likes ron paul. im liking this guy more every video. although ron paul has got in right in the economy, his view that the church and state shouldnt be rigidly separate is disappointing to say the least considering he is a constitutionalist. it is unfortunate the uk doesnt have a written constitution but rather a monarch and a church that are intrinsically linked to british government.
@bonfirejovi....The UK does not have a written constitution? May i suggest, my friend that you google the phrase Magna-Carta. I think you`ll find that a couple of guys called Washington and Jefferson did and came up with the present day US constitution.
@Thatcheriteme Actually no, the UK does not have a written constitution per se. It's based largely on common law and a series of documents, of which the Magna Carta is one, rather than a singular document recognised as the final law of the land.
As for the inspiration for Jefferson and Madison, yes one might argue that the Magna Carta and the Declaration of Arbroath played a role, however it's the writings of Adam Smith and John Locke that traditionally, and I'd say rightfully, get the credit.
@EvilDandy. The Magna Carta, you accept, addresses common law. Of which some of these laws are still in existence today. It also limited the power of the King and made him thereafter bound by law......Now if that does not have constitutional connotations, then im obviously going to have to bang my head against a brick wall. Every time i visit this page.
@Thatcheriteme From Wiki "Unlike many nations, the UK has no core constitutional document. It is therefore often said that the country has an unwritten, uncodified, or de facto constitution.[1] However, the word "unwritten" is something of a misnomer as much of the British constitution is embodied in the written form, within statutes, court judgments, and treaties. The constitution has other unwritten sources, including parliamentary constitutional conventions and royal prerogatives."
@EvilDandy. It says there, in your comment, "unwritten" is a misnomar. Meaning:; Untrue and much of the constitution is embodied in written form...You clown!
Courtesy of Wiki:
Magna Carta was the first document forced onto an English King by a group of his subjects in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges. It was preceded and directly influenced by the 1100 Charter of Liberties, when King Henry I had specified particular areas where his powers would be limited.
@Thatcheriteme I am fully aware that it says that it is a misnomer and if you look at my original post you will see I wrote "it does not have a written constitution per se". There is no disagreement between what I wrote and what is in the Wiki comment. Just different wording.
So as for the "clown" comment, please show as much courtesy as I have given you. I use to teach British history. I know what I am talking about.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow people should @ least try to get their facts right... There was no 2 term limit when FDR was in office, though it was traditional, that wasn't imposed until afterward as the supreme court stack wasn't either... These were limit placed after the fact...
Ask anyone who lived at that time... FDR picked this country up by it's bootstraps and gave people their lives back... Without another FDR people will be living in Hoover/Bush-villes
@JSparkleZ2 He said "convention" as in: that's what all presidents did because that's what Geo. Washington did. A lot of people agree with your FDR sentiments, but that does not change the fact that he ramrodded the Constitution when he was in office.
@JSparkleZ2 what are you on about? fdr ran against hoovers policies of government intervention in the market and then when he got in applied those exact same principles and extended the great depression for another decade. it wasnt until he stopped with the government intervention and let the market purge itself of malinvestment did america recover. also harding was laissez faire in the depression of 20-21 and that only lasted a year.
I very much admire Mr Hannan and his style of rhetoric but what on earth was he thinking to stoop so low as to appear on Fox 'News'?? I guess we're all human.
Yes, the US Constitution is brilliant ( I`m from Germany and Poland ), that shows the stability of their democracy, and the German "Basic Law", inspired from the pain of the past and the ideas on the Londons Six-Power-Conference shows it.

I think it's been a while since any country has been inspired by the US government.
