For some reason, I always thought this theme would make a good theme for its own game show. Didn't they borrow from this cue for the theme to "The Better Sex?"
I Wish we can use those cues from the Mid 1980's including The Spelling Bee Cue on the current Philippines version of The Price is Right with Kris Aquino in the near future if The Filipino Channel in the USA will air TPIR (if this happens.)
I just remembered that also the bit from roughly 2:58 to 3:10 was used for car descriptions from time to time on the Bob Eubanks version of Card Sharks.
Whenever it was a new car, I would turn the volume up very loud on the tv.

2:40 is the cue used in the Showcases, for those curious.

Love this cue. Isn't the internet amazing? To be able to find this stuff online.

@jhecht424 Yep. In fact, the Eubanks CS used a crapload of TPIR car cues back then.

The opening segment was first used for car descriptions late in season 11, and was used very frequently in season 12.

Thanks for posting. This cue is also used for small prizes on Temptation at 0:58. Do you have the cue that is often used for swap meet?
