@payton6600 Seroiusly? Do these look like JV kids? Compare the size of the players to the referees. Do you think they might be using JV kids as referees? You haven't seen the ball since kickoff, have you?
This is not to say that all 3 of these guys arent good in all facets of the game, these are just the areas they excel at from what i've seen. Balance is by far the hardest trait to find. The last time I saw a back with true balance was...guess who, Emmit Smith.
he hasnt started yet because there is a heisman winner and the next heisman winner in front of him but he will get his chance ......and watch out sec this man is a badass
I just had to come back and watch this again. It's been more than a year since I last saw it. This is the best highlight video I had seen then and it's still the best today. From overall production, music, and of course Eddie himself.
This guy's turn will come at 'Bama.. it might be next year when he gets his chance for some serious carries. But when he does..watch out. This guy is an amazing football player.
i just heard from my uncle that talked to burton burns, the alabama running back coach, and burns told him that not only is lacy amazing but in his opinion he is better than ingram and richardson and should win at least one heisman. thats amazing coming from his position coach
Jalston Fowler is actually playing LB right now in spring training. Bama's coaching staff said he looked good at LB. This will probably be the depth chart: Ingram; Richardson; Goode; Lacy.
He is really good I hope this dude works hard this off-season to get more playing time but if he keeps doing that spin he is going to get blasted in the sec that worked in high school but not now. Roll Tide
@geauxz , lol oh good point. It seems like Lacy is a grown-ass man everytime i look at him. Looks like Bama will have a stud right behind Richardson then (especially for when Ingram leaves)
This dude is not going to start until he is prolly a senior and thats a might because you never know about upcoming talent. The only way is he going to start before being a senior is if Trent gets hurt i that not likely.
goodbye Upchurch, it was nice knowing you. Hello Eddie Lacy, it will be nice to get to know you. And see you go along with Ingram and Trent. Then with Corey Grant and Jalston Fowler. RTR
Lacy didnt play a snap all last season. Youre dead wrong. If so, please show everyone some stats. Man, I cant believe we have that type of talent on the beanch WAITING for his chance. Eat your hearts out barners.
Eddie Lacy took NO snaps in 2009. Otherwise he would not have been allowed to take a redshirt. Only players who are injured early in a season can play and also be credited with a redshirt. You are thinking of Goode.
10th grade highlights of Eddie and Kelvin are on Google as well, and before you ask, I think Kelvin has found a team to play on now. He is an absolutely freaking amazing kid, and not just because you find yourself in total disbelief after watching this... FYI...both were in 10th grade
Yea he played in one or two games this year. Looked pretty good. . He'll see more playing time in the future if the new kid Corey Grant doesn't show him up.
Eddie played in 5A division, which has 2 teams in the top 50 in the nation. Also in divison 6 which has the the 2 time defending state champs(the maroon team)
man when u see this dude run in person, its like u playin madden wit him or somethin. right when somebody finna get him, he presses the O button and does a spin move. he tells me that he actually says the controls that he does on madden when he in a real game
@griss010 Yeah, its insane. I feel kinda bad for upchurch and grant though. They look like awful RB's compared to these guys when in actuality, they could easily start on other teams. I hope they get drafted, but it probably wont happen.
it wont be the same watching dutchtown tonight...i graduated with eddie and dtown has to go back to the wing t because eddie and kelvin graduated hahaha
he used to have the whole city there at the football games watching him
i really like how Saban gets all these fine recruits to come to Bama, last season Saban demolished its hated rivals and both Aub and Tenn , and that led to both long term coaches to get the boot
This kid is really good ,everybody is expecting Trent Richardson to be the man , but Eddie looks to be a lot harder to tackle ,he breaks 4or 5 tackles on nearly every play
Lacy recieved an A in his qualifying class, he'll be on campus in the fall if the Clearinghouse accepts it (which they will). We are gonna have a sick backfield this fall!
Just watch these 3 plays and ask yourself if you can honestly say you have seen a more impressive effort on a HS football field.
1) At 3:30 watch him drag players across the ground for 10+ yards.
2) At 6:12 watch a miracle as 9 of 11 defenders make contact with him and yet he still scores.
3) On the very last play, after zigging, zagging, cutting, snorting, and kicking up dust, Eddie actually hi fives #26 Effrem Reed as he falls across the goal line.(You may have missed that)
2) Eddie shared the backfield with Kelvin York and Desmond Thompson, meaning his stats came from roughly 40% on the field time.
3) Kelvin York had over 1000 yards rushing, Desmnd Thompson had around 1000 All Purpose Yards
4) When Eddie was on the field, everyone in the stadium knew he was getting the ball, heck, people orbiting the Earth in the space shuttle knew. Good blocking can't make up for 10 players stacked up in the box.
While I agree that Dutchtown had a solid O-line, as 4 Dutchtown players that were on this team when this was filmed are playing O-line in college, 3 of which are DI. However, they were playing against D-linemen and LBs that signed with DI schools, several of which signed with SEC schools, including Alabama. None of the O-line signed with an SEC caliber school.
i almost agree, the only thing i see different is that trent is slightly quicker on his feet, but eddie looks to be a little bit harder of a runner after first contact ROLL TIDE
i just graduated this year with eddie at dutchtown and he has carried our team since he was just a sophomore and he kept the stands packed every friday night...this guy has so many moves and the size to wear out a defense. He is very tough. Throughout the 3 years that he started varsity, he has only been hurt once and he was only out for 3 weeks and this is amazing considering our team only threw the ball and average of 6-8 times a game. So eddie always had the ball in his hands!
i agree however...eddie in the video runs over a tun of people...they have to be putting 8 people every play he is in there so blocking is better but that doesnt mean he isnt makeing the play
I've been saying since we signed this guy that he may be the best RB coming in. TR's highlights look great, but Lacy's are even better, in my opinion.
I've also been hearing through the grapevine that it looks like he's on track to qualify, as is Bowman.
Sorry friend, but "MUCH tougher competition" simply does not exist, period. These are 11th grade highlights from the toughest 5A conference in the state of Louisiana, "The River Parishes". There are more DI scholarships per capita awarded to players from the schools in this video, than any other HS football district in the country. I think there are 13 players in these highlights that will be playing in the SEC. Refute it :-)
Dude, hs football in the panhandle is known for being the weakest area in the state f UF. Trent is going to do great things for us at Alabama, but the competition Mr, Lacy went up against in HS is much tougher than what Trent saw. he's good but if you're comparing him to TR, take a look at trent's highlights again, he's been called the next earl campbell

I did.
Eddie looks stronger, more powerful, and seems to fight harder for inches...
TR seems to be more of an open space guy, maintains high speed on slashing cuts...
What an amazing backfield it will be with these guys in it...

WOW! Had to watch this video 2 or 3 times to see all those moves. Glad this kid is on board and not at LSU!

is it just me or does hype for trent overshadow this guy? He seems like he has better moves than mr. richardson.
