  • Maravilhosa, parabéns Sra. Livia, seu piano é mágico... suas notas entram direto em meu coração...adoro Chopin e já sou fã da Sra. Livia... obrigado

  • She's amazing...

  • I l-o-v-e Lívia !!!

In general, women play Chopin so much better, they have the understanding of the sensitivity of Chopin's music!

  • She is so adorable, and she has such a lovely, soft touch when she plays. I like how everyone who plays this adds their own personal style to it. Just delightful!!

  • amazing !

  • Bravo! This lady is simply amazing! This is my favorite rendition of this piece.

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEATIFUL ! ! !

  • Oh this is beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful rendition of this piece. She has made it fresh again for me, every note atteneded to. Lovely, you made my day!

  • @ongaku734

Yes, she is still alive and is 95 years old!

  • This is my favorite interpretation of this piece. It's so calming and lovely: Absolutely beautiful!

  • AMAZING!!! The best I ever heard!

  • I was on her course on my school, last month. I played Chopin's b-minor nocturne. She's fantastic! I very respect her.

  • @kitttyke: lucky you! she's amazing... szerencsés vagy hogy tanulhattál tőle!

  • livia rev is my favorite chopin interpreter :]

  • im playing this...the melody is so hard to get to sing, she does is so well. this is what playing piano your whole life does.

  • Rev's delicacy in playing suites a lot of these nocturnes well.

  • @OriginalBasaliskos Suits*, I mean

  • Brilliant...only wish I could play it like that!

  • beautifully done if a bit drawn out

  • Classic and Class all the way. One hit wonders come and go.. put people like Livia Rev are here to stay forever.. BRAVO.. MAGIC.. Pure CLASS!!!

  • look ma no arthritis

  • An absolute lady, delightful performance. Thank you for sharing this master interpretation.

  • Playing this, but not as beautiful as this lady

  • j'ai découvert ce morceau de chopin grâce à Muse !! c'est une musique magnifique !! j'adore ! émouvant

  • this is my favoirte interpretation out of all the videos of this piece on youtube.

  • I never tire of hearing this piece. Its my favorite work of Chopin (although admittedly Ive not heard all of his work)

Livia does a great job of it here, and the rhythm is often quite different from the usual interpretations I hear.

Well played, and thanks for sharing :-)

  • Muse uses this piece in their new song "United States of Eurasia(+ Collateral Damage)"

  • granny's got skills!

  • bellos recuerdos del nacimiento de mi pequeña hija, que ya esta por cumplir los 15 anos.

  • This is simply beautiful. Bravo!

  • this lady plays really really really good.

  • Or make you cry? :'(

So beautiful, I want to try and to learn this on the piano.

  • This has such a sweeping feel to it. I really am blown away by thebrilliant tempo. This is such a cool rendition.

  • The perfect background to a sultry summer evening in the moonlight.

  • good feel, one can learn alot for this version especially about rhythmic placement.

  • I wish that I could do at 63 what Livia has expressed so nobly at 90, Baron Peter von Schwarzbek

  • very very good. great dynamics, great tempo, fantastic technique. somewhere Chopin is smiling.

  • i can't say that i know piano well but this piece is my favourite and this one is the best performance ive ever heard.

  • cute old lady. shes plays this song beautifully! she really birngs out the emotion. i hope i can play this as well as her.[probubly not]

  • It is the best rendition of this piece Ive ever heard. Excellent finger control. Excellent!

She looks like my late grandmother too. :)

  • I've played this piece for many years, and have heard many performances and many more recordings of it by the great ones, but never have I heard a finer performance than this. It exhudes the true essence of Chopin. For one thing, I like the tempo. Chopin didn't mean for this nocturne to be slow and drippy.

  • Molto simile a come lo suono io....complimenti :)

  • I really like the musical treatment of this chopin. She has musical intuition in her blood

  • I do agree with you!

    ...simply gorgeous.

I'm happy for the existence of such a person...

  • She plays this very well, a lot of feeling in it. =)

  • I love this song! It's so good! She plays it really amazingly!

  • DAMNIT! I kept thinking this was by Schubert! I feel silly.

    Anyway, this is lovely.

  • OH my...this is beautiful. I just got the piece. Now I can't wait to learn it! She plays it beautifully! I don't think that when I learn it, I"ll be able to play it nearly as well as this lady! I"m only twelve!

  • this song is amazing! we are having it at my grandads funeral on friday so prob will be a touching song :( x

  • i luv this nocturne!

  • The lady plays with gorgeous tone and singing line. I don't care for her unsteady left hand. Rosenthal, dePachmann, and vonSauer bring something more to this music, but they were giants; this performance is very beautiful on its own terms, far better than Rubinstein, Rachmaninoff and a host of others.

  • This is my favorite nocturne and this lady plays it magnificently! Bravo!!!!

  • Chopin rox ;)

  • Im here because of the show 'Dexter' lol...

  • Ha ha ha, that's how i got hooked on CHOPIN :-D great stuff!

  • me too! I was 13 and heard it on an encyclopedia cd you got with your computer and I was looking at poland stuff and it was playing this song, and it blew my mind, and at that age? wow. then I forgot till now. Its fantastic!

  • That was where I first heard it too. It was Grolliers Encyclopedia.

  • ...lol livia rev is the pianist. frederic chopin was the composer.

  • It bugs the hell out of me when people think they know more about rubato than Chopin. She made intelligent musical choices that are unpretentious and serve the music well. Sometimes people get too flashy on the chromatic runs, but I thought hers were tasteful and heartfelt.

  • e flat sound so much better

  • bellisima!

  • this is really good....a lot of the people that play this song can play the notes right but this one really has chopin's style in it ... and I know how hard that is. Really really good.

  • She plays this so beautifully - the best I've heard thus far on YouTube. This is better than Arthur Rubenstein's interpretation to me. Wow! Her Rubatos, dynamics and everything else is so beautiful...

    Five stars and favored!

  • everybody comments on her appearance.yes she is old! but she is still graceful and her music so soft and marvelous!bavo livia!wso what else?!

  • *tear*

    such beautiful music

  • i just love it..i am practicing this song now and it is easy to play but then the feelings stuff are difficult to be honest

  • hehe me too n_n

  • intense, superb...

  • Bravo!

  • brilliant performance! her feelings are ,without doubt, genuine !

  • esta musica es increiblemente celestial

  • wonderful perfomance!

  • lovely !

  • one more thing...is this like the only picture of her?

  • We all get old. It's not shameful to show her in her elder years.

  • this piece is actually very easy to play of course until the range widens and that (ALL RIGHT HAND - LEFT HAND)... The piece is written wonderfully and she does play it very nice..

    p.s not hating on her...

  • its easy to play the notes, but the difficulty in playing the music is quite indefinite...

  • This piece is so full of emotion. Takes a special touch and sensitivity to express it appropriately. I agree with you.

  • This playing sounds so powerful you'd imagine it's a man playing...but an old lady? I'm amazed.

  • That is the stuff.. beautiful I really liked hearing that..

  • simply master-level pianist..without any doubt..best regards to her

  • a wonderful performance, just how it should be played

  • god.... she is sooooo wonderful...

  • Marvelous...I wil dream in peace!

  • what are you talking about...

shes become rich on her own because she

    has talent for playing piano

    -.-"

  • im lost

    =S

  • You idiot not-an-expert. Her kid doesn't have to pay for her expensive shit. She pays for her expensive shit HERSELF. She makes more money from performances and masterclasses in a week than you will ever make in your lifetime.

  • I agree. ngexpert is an uncultured pimp who likes to crap on other happy, talented people in this world!!

  • Wonderful playing!

  • One of the most beautiful interpretations of this Nocturne. However, this is Nocturne Op.9 No.2 in E-Flat Major.

  • Thank You and sorry...

  • all is alright..except that this piese is not th "nocturne No.4" from chopin....but...is excellent too.

  • It's nice to have been able to have found this piece on youtube of all places.

  • I love this piece of music :-)

And the word zephyr is magic (I use it everywhere)
