I was told and I'm certainly no expert! But the guy who told me was a pretty good jazz guitarist and he was told by some Belgian Gypsies, and he told me it was affirmed regularly "Always Down" in terms of lead picking. Discuss?!
Django did everything there was to do in poular music...first. rock guitar came from django so its no surprise that he may sound like a rock guitarist to some ears
Yeah he would he's defanitley one of the best guitarists ever I admire his speeding technique on diminished scales and chromatics and even his improvisations. He was lucky to have his two fingers although his playing was fucked.
not exactly, django was acomplished musician even before the fire accident. We can only speculate how this influenced his style and technique but he surely is THE greatest guitarist ever (for me at least)

its not really about licks through this guy is a good rhythm player and for people new to rhythm this is good but for lead he doesnt really no what hes on about he seems like a rock guitarist whos been playing some gypsy jazz hes teaching solos like rock guitarists solo in licks if you want to lern solos i think the romane video lessons would be good he can play really well
its not about licks man there is so much more to it than that your a good rhythm player but ive herd your solos on myspace i think it was you and you have just got like 10 bars of some roseunburg then 5 bars of someone els then one of the gypsy jazz tricks then another lick then another 5 bars of a roseunburg thing
if you teach like this the same thing will happen to your students when you solo like this the solo wont flow im not haveing a go denis
maybe you're right, but for people new to this style this is invaluable as a starting point. Besides all the books I've seen - by Romane et al do the same thing as this. Dennis should be applauded for his desire to share his knowledge for free. Where is your contribution ?

Fantastic Denis!
if it's any consolation, Denis is Stochelo's friend. He plays at the Gypsy Jazz Fest.

1) I think if you want some credibility, you'll have to learn how to spell sir...
2) Have you seen the 4 dvds? No.
Your comments are laughable.
