@Phili721 Raiden wanted to become stronger and faster so he augmented his body he was like that in the last metal gear just not as advanced as he is know

@FutureGD well it said in wiki is that between mgs2 and 4 Raiden was assigned a mission from Big Mama to find the remains of Big Boss. Apparently he was caught by the Patriots and then experimented with exoskeleton surgery. He was saved by Big Mamas group but his body was never the same again. Then he thought his life is meant for warfare so that is how he became the way he is now. I only dont know cuz i never played the 4th installment cuz i have xbox not ps3 lol <_<.
