That's what I thought before going to San Francisco. "Just the bridge and Alcatraz, right? What's so special about it?" Well, I was there for only 2 days and fell in love with the city. It's gorgeous! And its people, so friendly and nice.

Those skyscrapers in Frisco far overshadowed anything we had here in Vancouver Cda..I was shocked at the heights * the number of them!

The in-game San Andreas wasn't even based on the real-life San Andreas in the first place. If anything, the three main locations in the game were based on Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

I went there in the early 80s do im sorry to say drop some acid off, And to pick up some differnt stuff. rode on the back of a honda gold wing from seattle. We got pulled over just outside of san fran going to fast. My buddy just said let me do the talken. I had just droped 3 hits. Those were the day.

I think this song feels sad a bit because it reminds of a time when people really thought things would turn out OK, and they were young. Still love it though. My dad, who was 41 when this came out, used to call it 'Frisco. I miss him

I share your sentiments there adam , I used to listen to that and other songs of it's generic on an old radio, I was only a toddler and yet I knew all the words and sang along with it, I'm 45 now so it was a longtime ago, I know things can seem better when young but things were without a shadow of a doubt different , we were poor but the atmosphere was much better, friendlier and more certain than it is today, there was much more optimism , now I seriously think society has lost the plot.

Sadly this is true, and it's the same everywhere now, we seem to have learned nothing, the whole idea of the Flower Power Movement was to wise up from past mistakes, and make war and violence a thing of the past, replace it with peace and love ,there is an old saying that says...'Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it'...and this is exactly what is happening today, this generation has forgotten, so they will repeat it all again.

Problem with the '60s generation was that they IDed some problems but provided no solutions to basic problems with man; because they don't really know the root of the problem.They ID problems and then offer sex, drugs and fanciful tunes as cure: not substantial enough to replace deep rooted problems stemming from underlying human condition.But they are running the show now and we'll see if they can get China, Rus, Arabs to buy into Woodstock.Doubt it.
