Either he's bending ever so slightly while playing the riff just before the chorus, or his strings are slightly out of tune. Nice cover, maybe turn up your bass settings on your amp, unless you're playing through your comp/FX processor. Is that a Rhoads pinstripe?

Dislike it when people judge a persons cover of a solo for a song.. its never easy to get exactly the solo to be in time with Kirk Hammet's playing, he isn't Kirk or James, so he would not know how to play the way they do.
