  • @foreverunited333 Maybe give a look at some of my other video's for an exterior sound clip.  Sounds like a V8, and I've never heard a V8 that sounded bad..........

  • @dmclone well i think the Gearing of the transmission in this car would be softer and slower for comfort i guess.

  • @form109 exactly, its not made for shifting fast, its for a leisurely pace, though you can still gun it and beat most cars on the highway.

  • The Hyundai Genis reminds me alot of a 1990 Lexus LS 400,Luxurious,quiet,with plenty of power to boot,not to mention a great value....the cost of a new LS today is rediclious.

    look foward to seeing what hyundai will do in the future,they've already weathered the storm and made great strides!

  • @form109 Thats so true! When the 1990 Ls400 came out it was like a whole new world in automobiles! We put 234 thousand miles on our ls400 before a large repair! I hope the genesis can keep up, they have a good start!

  • @bg1379 I think the front and rear emblems were around $28, and the new KDM airbag was $245 shipped. BTW, your Genesis vid from 2 years ago is entertaining, and I bet was fun!

  • @Scott1tothe7 have You had any problems with this car? am considering tl tech sh/awd and know Honda's reputation for dependabilty,reliabilty, performance, no service lane histories,etcetera, but i have heard that the Koreans are now kicking Japan's butt(especially in electronics by Samsung and LG). am also considering lexus gs and es,but have learned that Hyundai is releasing the rspec 8 speed 429 hp for 2012. just how reliable and problem free has been Your Genesis?

  • @sayeretmatkal17021 I've owned the Genesis for over 2 years now and have never had a problem. Really love the car. LIked the GS, but back seat is tiny. I'm not a huge fan of the ES since it's basically a Toyota Camry with lipstick. FInd out more on the Genesis at Genesisowners

  • @Scott1tothe7 thank You very much for Your reply.i had heard that Hyundai had even employed German engineers and was doing everything possible to beat Japan (it's number one enemy) in all areas inclluding baseball. i had read horror stories from some on line sites(and of course there are those who won't identify themselves when commenting who are most likely employed by other auto makers). i will accept Your advice and learn more at the Genesis owners site. again, thank You!

  • @2bidfilmsguy I've only heard great things about the ZF tranny, interested to know what you mean on this. Regarding the cars weight - It's a luxury car that's wide as hell and 16 feet long. I'm not aware of a light-weight luxury sedan. Thanks for watchin'

    Same here I heard and read nothing but positives about the ZF trans. And really for a full size luxury sedan the Genesis is actually light compared to its competitors. I think that guy needs to pick up a book before spewing shit on youtube lol.

  • @tbirdsport302 I know the 2009's do (mine), but I'm not sure about the 2010 or 2011. Sure looks sweet layin' down two strips!

  • @Scott1tothe7 i meant on when going to the next gear, like from 2nd to 3rd, it hangs for a few secs then goes to the next gear

  • just a question.... How come some genesis sedans have "H" on the steering wheel and some have the genesis logo like this one here? (its the same on the trunk too am i right??)

  • @pasley I have replaced the airbag with the KDM (Korean Domestic Market) version. In other words, it's the same airbag that is on the Korean model. You're correct about the trunk also. Thanks for watching:)

  • Sounds great! We've currently got 3 Hyundais in the family.  I've been driving them exclusively since 1995 and currently have a Tucson. I think I'm a lifer.

  • @jexicon my friends have been there, done that, their A4's and S4's were at the dealer getting repaired more then they were driving them, and the repair costs' would buy a used newer Accord.

  • @Scott1tothe7 that's very true..have owned an Audi..will not go back there..however if u wanna buy an audi....buy it brand new....sell it after its warranty is done because just oil changes will be costing u around 150 bucks.

  • @youlubeme Right on man:) This car with V8 holds 7 quarts of oil. Another reason to love what I drive is the dealership I bought my car from gives "free oil changes for life" program. I run synthetic, and 7 quarts plus the filter wouldn't be cheap, but it is for me!

  • @Scott1tothe7 also.....An A4 doesn't come close to what the Genesis has to offer inside the cabin and outside. You should visit the Lexus forum. I'm surprised to see how well the Genesis as a Hyundai is readily excepted and respected.

    but 2010 audi a4 looking good lol.

    Audi a4 is better build quality wise, handing wise,safety wise, design and engineering wise.

    Hyundai genesis is cheaper to maintain and has more cylinders and has more features standard, but one feature it doesnt have is

    German Engineering. At the end of the day its a Hyundai and the AUdi is well an Audi lol.

    great car I'd take it over any American car any day.

  • No buddy, what you were doing was a power slide. A drift is where you go into the corner already sliding. A power slide is where you enter a turn while gripping the road, then slam on the power to cause the back to break out into a slide. Anyways, potato potato...

    I have to say though, that engine sound is absolutely awesome. Great car O_O

  • I think which car is quicker is a bit subjective to a point.  MotorTrend tests this car 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and Car and Driver tested it with an average of 5.3 seconds.

  • All luxury cars will not allow you to fully disable the ESC, even if you have set it to "off", and the tip trionic mode doesn't make any difference in regards to the ESC, although it's fun.

  • NOT true...hold down the ESP button on ANY new bmw for more than 3 seconds, punch it on a straight line, turn or whichever, and MAGIC 8) Fact is most new cars are designed to not turn off traction completely by simply pressing the button, but most have tricks to get around it. Another example: Mazdaspeed 3 - press the ESP button within the first 3-5 seconds of turning the car on and it kills both stability and traction COMPLETELY.

  • Traction on even if ESC is disabled? I never had that problem with my Sonata... ESC off, and I floor it the front wheels spin easily. If you want to try and get the back to do some sliding around a turn like that, try the tip tronic in.. 2nd and the gun it as you come out the turn

  • @Djonemore very true. i do this all the time in my gen coupe. traction control off and 2nd gear is the magical formula =] just make sure you dont over or understeer. ouch...

  • Again this is a luxury car, not a performance coupe. Just like Mercedes, BMW, etc., the ESC is still enabled when on the "off " position. It just doesn't interfear as much.

  • Specifically, to elaborate, in Mercedes cars pressing the ESP off button stops the car from controlling the throttle. It will still stab the brakes. You can disable it in a secret menu on Mercedes cars. On BMW, you can fully disable the system by pressing and holding the DTC button on the dash.

  • I also have a V6 2006 Sonata so I know what you're talking about ESC off, is ESC off. The Genesis is different.

  • i just tried to drift this car. just when i thought i was about to slide, i hear my revs going from like 6000 to like 3000, :'( i know exactly how u feel with the traction control man. i could not drift this car in a court

  • If you pull the fuse, all hell breaks loose:)

  • what does the fuse for ESC look like?

  • open the hood and on the passenger side CLOSEST to the FIREWALL you will see a fuse box. Inside that box...in the middle you will see a RED 10A FUSE in a stack of 4. Flip the box over and it should say ECS (which is backwards from ESC) here is where we are at right now. The CHECK ENGINE light is now lit and we are trying to figure out how to reset the main ECU

  • hehe, thanks a lot! i found the fuse a week ago when u told me about it the first time. but i was scared to try this. after i take the fuse out, do a doughnut, should i put it back in?

  • and by the way, i did not open the hood. on the left side of the steering wheel, (you have to open the driver door to see it kuzz its touching it) there was a fuse box, with about 30 different things

  • i dont see ESC, i see ESCL. i see 10a, on both sides, the driver side, and the passenger side of the fuse box. which ESCL fuse should i take out?

  • It's a new air bag from Korea....the factory airbag in Korea, but not put on the American versions. Hell, they don't even get the 4.6L in Korea.

  • my dad got this sunday. he got everthing, he got aftermarket wood package, he even got mudflaps and pin stripes, he got the genesis logo everywhere EXCEPT the steering wheel.

  • I actually testdrove this one..and was amazed at how well it performs...

    but when I looked at the price...couldn't afford it....which I knew from the frist place
