What a great legacy ... I worked at Caesars in Atlantic City in 1980-81 and Sam Butera played in the lounge there, which was my introduction to Louis Prima and the band ... what a great gift Sam had and what a great partner he was to Louis and the group. I would be proud of Jimmy Vincent too if he was my dad.
@JuBa347 Thanks for post with date. I was wondering why no Keely. 1980 explains it. Man, they were GRRREAAAT together!! That whole moment in time, the band was slammin' and Louie & Keely had chemistry magic!!
@TheViralNation Makes me nuts when they do that!! Like, in a once in a lifetime unbelievable, guitar/drum/sax,etc solo, the camera is on the face of the performer!! grrr
that's Lou Sineaux on tb. Like Louis and Sam, he is from N O. He is seen playing more on some of the other videos. He was a regular with the group during these years.
@tromboneJTS About Lou Sineaux : I first knew him ( just as a fan) in N O in later years as Lou Sino. So When I saw your comment I googled that that name and .... wow .( Google lou sino . The 1st one i get is a youtube I cant link here) there may be more stuff via google, but I looked at this and had to let you know about it right away. He was a wonderful player and entertainer as a leader in NO in his later years. ( also : I just saw another spelling -- Scioneaux )
@JoJo Drummers Jimmy Vincent is amazing on the drums! My husband and I DVR'd the PBS special and watch his drum solo over and over again when he is doing the impressions while on the drums. We marvel at how amazing he is and how it is impossible to find talent like that these days. whenever we have someone over we make them watch it!!!!

Louis Prima played the late show in Las Vegas and all the rat pack would relax and see his show after theirs. The energy of his music is amazing....there are several great CD's out of Louis Prima and Keely Smith.

One of the best quality Louis Prima videos on YouTube - thank you for this treasure 'uneteanuestrasecta'. Louis P was an awesome talent. I wish I could go back in time to watch an his band perform live to really soak up the magic. Very sadly missed but still very much enjoyed.

Actually, that is the young, talented, Gia Maione, & his wife, to boot. I was a member of a band called, The Rhythm Masters, & we had the good fortune to work with Louis & Sam Butera a number of times during the early/mid 60's @ Harrahs in Reno & Lake Tahoe. My favorite act of all time.
OK - I found the full song on iTunes under "Buona Sera - Artist - Gia Maione." It features San Butera on a sax solo which is unfortunately way too short. I have no idea why anyone would want to cut his part out of this video, but I've listened to the song quite a number of times now. His style of playing was wonderful, and I don't know anyone today who can compare. We need more Louis Prima's, Sam Butera and the Witnesses in our world today.

I think that keely smith was alot better than Gia. She had a better vioce and a more known and lovable personality.

Just seems bizarre that they are cutting the sax solos

Can anyone tell me where this clip was originally recorded? I don't understand why they cut the solo bridge out of this - it makes the entire song. I would like to obtain the full clip if possible. Knightsix

You'll never see or hear anything as clever, cute or swinging again. Represents a great era in American music. The same notes exhist today but the world is too dark, sick and disturbed.

This is a very nice song, and I am glad to hear it, again, after many years. The Melody and the lyrics are great.
