a hot jam is a hot jam no matter who made it. the recording is very good, super clear and defined. great musicianship , song writing, singing etc. two other good ones by the group are "Radio Clash" and "Train in Vain".----the casbah video has been one of my favorites since the old MTV days.
Really great song. I never could make out the lyrics until I read them here. Now I'm a little surprised of the lyrics, but this is a childhood song and reminds me of times when I didn't have any responsibilities and DEBT!
@SheikhTaqiyyameister You didn't read the previous comment. The guy I responded to said "i liked this song more before i knew what the words were" I know it's the "fucking" Clash and I love them.

That was way back in the day where Englishmen were allowed to criticize Islam. Those were some good days. England was great. It's too bad I have to be an American to legally say that. It's too bad that that makes me a de facto racist. It's too bad for England.
I wasn't there. Muslims gave their country away to fascists, and it sucks. Well, at least nobody's a racist. Baby raping is good clean Muslim fun.
Nice tune, but of course they got worse as they got more successful. Nothing is better than _The Clash_ (their first album), esp. "White Riot" and "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais." Long live saltnpeppa ska and The Sex Pistols.
The armadillo seen in the video ran into an amp and was really difficult to remove! Looks like everyone had a good time making this video. Rest well, Joe Strummer. You are truly missed.

@GhostDistortion Nothing unfortunate about it.
That's the fucking Clash. And this is arguably their very best song, and a #1 hit, as well.
Turn it up. It sounds better.
