  • anyone else notice the Rudolf Nureyev poster? (or at least i think it's him)

  • i know people say you have to work hard to look like them, but they are on regulated diets low in starch, high in protein, and low in fat. Food is a large part of a dancer as well as their hard work in class. Even if they don't need it, they are all regulated.

  • about ballet diets - all peaple are different, so... there are some girls on my class, who eat ANYTHING at ANY time, and they are always in exellent form. About me... I have to eat vegetables and fruits, rarely - milk products and fish. This is the sole way to have a necessary ballet figure for me

  • Im learning this exact lesson in ballet 5. But they do it alot better than us.

  • Here should not be deep plies

  • Their plies are so tiny not just in this video but the other vaganova student videos too.

  • Their plies will develop over time, as their legs become stronger. Also, I doubt very much these girls would have been selected in the first place if their bodies didn't demonstrate potential to develop a strong, deep and cushy plie, during the entrance audition.

  • you dont have to not eat anything to look like those girls.. you just have to work hard and keep a steady healthy diet.. you can stilll eat whatever, just small portions

  • those girls are so slim. what kind of diet they have?

  • lettuce? i don't know, but i am not eating until i look like them! :)

  • you're so funny! treu though! lol. no offence to anyone yea

  • omg good idea!

i have been doing the same!

  • wonderful

  • Does Vaganova have summer school? But Im to old.. 18 years..

  • if you don't know where the vaganova academy is, you probably don't have the authority to be correcting them...sorry i'm just saying...

  • The teacher of this class Baltacheeva, to girls of 15 years, and Academy Vaganovoj is in Russia!

  • Those girls are great!

  • Beautiful! They are learning to land with control and very little wobbling, even in the extended legs. They could close their assembles faster, and work on height in their jumps, but they have beautiful poses, always know where they are going; they own the center, a result of Vaganova training. Where is this?

  • if you don't know where the vaganova academy is, you probably do not have much authority to be correcting them, im just sayin...

  • When I first saw this video, it was the first in the series that I saw, and I didn't realize where it was. Why? Outside of Russia, anybody can call themselves "Vaganova." As I said, they have very good control, even with extended legs, and almost no wobbling. However, I had thought that assembles that did not travel were supposed to close before landing. In America (and RAD, etc.), assembles close any time the dancer pleases, but I had been instructed that the Vaganova method was otherwise.

  • Vera Kostrovitskaya, in "School of Classical Dance" (with Alexei Pisarev, authorized translation John Barker) says: "Pas assemble (meaning "assembled", from the French assembler, "to gather together")... The basic characteristic of pas assemble is the joining (or assembling) of the legs in 5th position in the air." V. Kostrovitskaya taught at the Vaganova Academy, and was considered an authority on the teaching method.

  • Upon looking at the video several times, I noticed that these assembles were traveling, and therefore could close late. But then, they hardly traveled... less than the distance of a battement tendu... and should have covered much more of the room. One way or another, this is about the only criticism of this class; these assembles are, compared to everything else, sloppy.

  • I have to say they are all gifted student!

  • how are old are they?they are good!!

  • HOLY COW!!! How old are these people??

  • who was the teacher of this class?
