I have a SBOD and can tell you once you get the idea how the Z and Texture knobs work you'll never want to get rid of it. Best underrated OD in the Mad Pro line. I'd stack it up against the SHOD any day. It can do that OD as well as many more.
SKY BLUE OVERDRIVE - sounds warmer, fuller, gain sounds looser
BLUE BOY DELUXE - sounds gainier, thinner, gain sounds tighter
***as always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay***
I liked the Blue Boy better, warmer, fatter and more versatile - for half of the cost. Really Mad Professor are pushing it too far: You can get a decent practice amp for the price of one of their pedals. Not cool.
Thanks for a great show. One thing I miss in your tests though is that it's done with both a HB- and a SC-pickups. I'm a strat/tele-guy and it's harder for me to judge the pedals when testet with one of your Gibsons than e.g. with your Strat.
Besides that, thanks for great show and for you being cool...... , and btw reverb does not suck.....
Hey Gearmanndude, I was wondering, what sort of action do you like on your guitars? Particularly on your start and telecasters? Do you have a particular setup you like in 64ths or millimeters?

The guitar didnt go out of tune, those pedals were thundering out so much ROCK he lost control of his body. You can hear it at 3.24.

I like the Mad Prof better. The Blue Boy had a cheese factor about it at some settings.
