  • Good stuff - just embedded it on my website, crossmmafit / stance

  • How come when I watch fighters like buakaw they always leave their head open/unguarded. Is that just because they're skilled or fast enough to move out the way?

  • Is there a single video on the internet that explains "muay thai" stance? Everyone has their foot power leg way back like a TKD or Karate stance, but I hear you're not supposed to have your foot far back, maybe a few inches at the most.

  • @jgq85 The "typical" Thai stance is: guard high and out in front, chin tucked, body half bladed, feet shoulder width apart, and more weight on the back leg. Every piece has plus and minuses, so everyone has a different stance. For example, keeping your feet close together includes these pluses: more speed and power for Thai style kicks, slightly less energy use, and ideal for defending low kicks. Minuses include: less mobility, weaker boxing punches, and certain Thai counters become ineffective.

  • Best stance guide video I've seen yet.

  • buncha retards that watch UFC and think they know all there is to know about fighing....fuckin douche bags and there retarded comments....

  • funny how you probaly have no mma training once so ever

  • there is no right and wrong in stances be it 60/40 50/50 or 40/60. weight distribution depends on different situations faced. use what works for u.

  • @itchykandar I like to use all three.

  • very good stance our style teaches this exact one and it works much better than those crappy traditional styles.

  • yea i like to keep my weight 50/50 on my legs, if your weights 60/40 its hard to check kicks and your head tends to stick out further when theres more weight on the front foot, everything else is perfect

  • Ryan, isn't 60/40 on the front leg a little heavy for checking legkicks?

  • Great stuff Ryan. I second your proposal to join a gym. Book smarts will never equal actual practice and perseverance.

  • wich is the best site teaching you this kin of stuff

  • I didn't learn from a site per se, however there is a plethora of information out there. What I recommend is finding a credible coach to study under and to put in your hours inside the gym figuring out what works for you.

  • nice video

  • That's a good stance.

  • good stuff thanks
