  • Dr Who has been censored by SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, and PETA, why PETA? they just hate humanity in general just like the other groups here.... and together with their hate they make..

THE UNITED HUMANITY HATING SOCIETY OF VILLAINS. *theme music*

  • Wow i thought the eleventh one was the best

  • This theme is much better than the 2011 one why didn't they just remaster it and put it into the new ones?

  • A brilliant theme although I think 1980-85 gives it a run for its money

  • Would you like a jelly baby?

  • @MegaBanana101 ta!!

  • I think this is my favorite version of the song.

  • Man, hyperspace always looks so freaky....

*Cookies for anybody who gets it*

  • @ubernoober9 Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean... :-D

  • @ubernoober9 family guy blue harvest

  • @ubernoober9 youtu. be/-lVlVbsWfZk Ok wheres mah cookeh?

  • @ubernoober9 Oh... And don't forget to remove the space between utu. be

  • I just started watching Doctor who, and this is the 1st doctor i saw and it was the ark in space, kinda cheesy though but awesome

  • Doctor Whooves' theme song.

    Oh wait...

  • @eXAKR You are correct good sir. It's Doctor Whooves theme as well. To me, this beautiful and classic theme is the universal representation of all the incarnations of Doctor Who, including his pony form. :)

  • Every Single Dalek Thinks THat Trial Of A Timelord Theme Is The WORST!!!!!!!

  • @worldsbiggestbastard the trial of a time lord theme is the best

  • @animationdude56 I Dident Mean I HAte it

  • @worldsbiggestbastard neither did I imply that you hate it.

  • RIP William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Elisabeth Sladen, Nicholas Courtney, Roy Skelton, Delia Derbyshire, Ron Grainer

  • @Randomaited Don't forget Verity Lambert. I don't think the show would have made it without her.

  • @EmperorMAD

    Completely agree, Verity Lambert R.I.P

  • The ORIGINAL 'Techno'. I'm guessing this theme went on to influence so many artists and much of the music we listen to today.

  • To me the best doctor will aways be Tom Baker.

  • @johnyboytrack29 Agreed.

  • AKA Troughton's theme.

  • Best Sci-fi Theme I've ever heard!

  • davros dont like this

  • OK, I'm over 25. It brings back memories of watching Dr.Who episodes on PBS when I was a teenager in the 70's and .

  • OK, I'm over 25. This brings back memories of when I used to stay up late as a teenager in the 70's and watching Dr.Who episodes on PBS.

  • @springgraphicstx Over 25? I think you're over 35! Hehe! I too watched Doctor Who way back when in Canada. The best! My dad and i watched it-one of the few shows we both enjoyed

  • What if you add the 1970 and 1973 logos.

  • The original version of theme, is The Televised Version.

  • dum de dum forever, delia...

  • im 21 and my gf is 20 and both love doctor who. and Im a giant tom baker doctor fan.

  • this is by far the most exelent theme. william hartnells was great, but needed that little background echo, to get you set up for a time-tavelling mystery with the "cosmic hobo" cudos for the fantastic music!

  • @conorfitz100 is me but i forgot my password...sooooo....

  • @conorfitz100 I like the satisfying "PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW" Sound at the beginning of the new ones though.

  • SYNTHESIZERS RULES! Always in our hearts Dr. Robert Moog, R.I.P.

  • @Acherontis Oh this wasn't done by synthesizers. The first version of this original theme was made electronically a year before synthesizers were invented!

  • @AidanLunn this isnt the original one this is the second iteration of the theme song.

  • @Generalofmetal Technically speaking, it's the old theme with effects added. So still the original theme. Just added effects. Not a complete re-composition.

  • I wasn't aware that a full version of the Troughton theme existed. Was it released on CD or has this been edited together with the original version and bass echo added?

  • I'm Spanish, Lithuanian, Egyptian and Australian and I love Doctor Who!

  • @Frysgirl3009 seriously I'm British, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and French.

  • @Frysgirl3009 I don't understand what you mean. Simplify please.

  • "How wrong he was" lol! Good on ya m8! Peter Howell's version for me was AWFUL. Dr WHO should NOT sound Funky. It's basically Dr Who on the Yamaha CS-80.

Dom Glynn's was back on Track with a nice Bass Riff, & a well sculpted 'Haunt'. But the Middle 8 patch was a brass like synthetic squeek! Much better tho. And Keff's was 50-50. The Haunt was Extrordinary! It's Grinded thru you. And Sounded very Ethereal. But the Bass riff was just AWFUL. So Cheap.

Now it's Just Terrrible. All Brass & Wind ;-(

  • I have a feeling I'm the only 14 year old that uploaded these onto her ipod... call me crazy but I did it. :)

  • @MsHEDLEYACDC

    I'm 14, but I didn't upload it on to my I-pod.. :(

    I'm also American/Welsh/Irish! I love Doctor Who! :)

  • @theLegendofZelda2009 Haha. I'm British, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and part french. And I LOVE Doctor Who Too! :D

  • @MsHEDLEYACDC Sadly you are one of the few.

  • still have to love JNT. He did make Peter Davison a great Doctor!

  • I ALWAYS ENJOY this music!

  • does anybodehh kno teh dr's real name 0_o

  • @masterofre51 It is The Doctor. Only The Doctor. He come from an alien race with a more liberal naming style.

  • Lovie it!

  • I like this theme, but my favourite is definitely the Howell version used for Peter Davison.

  • sounds like my washingmachine

  • @dududugary And how much do you want for your washing machine?

  • This is the version of the theme tune I remember from when I first began watching Doctor Who in 1977. XD

  • Love it to. Love it to. Love it to.

  • R.I.P William Hartnell, Patric Troughton and John Pertwee

you three were the best doctors ever!

  • @jack037907 That's JON Pertwee to you, sir!

  • @jack037907 no, tennant was the best doctor!

  • @jack037907 They are the same creature dude!!!! {Ps they are all ecualy great ask enybody! }

  • This is the best version of the lot with bells on!

  • ^_^ LOVE IT LOVE IT! GO DOCTOR WHO!

  • My favorite has always been Tom Baker. Always will be. I didn't expect to like David Tennant as much as I did. I was sorry to see him go. This new guy, Matt Smith seems like a good actor, but I don't like him. He already looks like he's emulating Tennant. I agree with the comments about the new theme. This action version just isn't fitting Doctor Who. I'm 29.

  • @Pianotm Emulating Tennant? Seriously? We must not be watching the same show....

  • My favorite has always been Tom Baker. Always will be. I didn't expect to like David Tennant as much as I did. He did a fabulous job. I was sorry to see him go. This new guy, Matt Smith seems like a good actor, but I still don't like him. Maybe if he were a bit older, but he already looks like he's emulating Tennant. I agree with the comments about the new theme. I think it needed revamping, but this action version, though good, just isn't fitting Doctor Who. I'm 29.

  • who cares about age?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @mroptimustron1 Why do you have a problem with other people asking?

  • @Pianotm asking what?

  • again, you need the actuall titles not just music

  • I like the epic sound and feel of the new opening, but it's just not quite the same. It certainly lacks the distinctive "Creepy" and "Mysterious" feel of the original and really not only has that feel become faded from the title sequence but also the show itself. The show is still good mind you, but it just doesn't have the mystery the old show had.

I miss it, but evolution was always a factor and the show must change now and then.

  • Dr Who theme is a Rocking tune, lol!

Brill''.Who cares how old ya are?

  • I am 40!!!

  • Aah,well! Never mind.I''m sure ya''ll get used to it!

  • I just love the base echo in this version at 1.11 especially.

  • I do like this version and the Tom Baker Era one with the electric guitar. I just hope they take the crap orchestra out of the theme for the new doctor.

  • @andygoth There was a version with electric guitar? I missed that... when did that happen?

  • @andygoth Eh? What electric guitar?

  • I think he means the Peter Davison theme. It has a distinct electric guitar sound to it.

  • Somehow, I get the idea that I'm the only one under the age of twenty-five in the group of people listening to these...

  • Don't worry, I'm under 25 - and I uploaded them!

  • Haha! You also live in the country that started the whole thing. I've been stuck on the other side of the pond my whole life, but I'd move in a heartbeat.

  • yes we did and it was magnificent :) but most conventions are in london thts it

  • @DarthJedi2005 So'm I! Just about. By three years, anyway. >.>

  • @DarthJedi2005 No worries, you and me both. I assume the little tweeting noises were made by a Moog or something similar? I have an MP3 of the theme without the tweeting noises that I can post if you like.

  • @HarvestmanMan Oh, I just realized that I have the 1963 theme.

  • nope, I'm under 25 also, and also can appreciate the awesomeness of this.

  • @DarthJedi2005 I'm under 25 also, and also can appreciate the awesomeness of this.

  • @DarthJedi2005 how did u make these videos

  • @jampox101 Easy! Just get the theme into a video editing software, wack the logo over the top and bish bash bosh job done!

  • @DarthJedi2005 and you're not the only 'youngsters' realising old stuff is great! I'm a mere 42!

  • I hears this on you tube an im now buy the dvds. I'M only 25.

  • nope, 17 and still a fan. My favorite has to be the howell version, but this is high on the list (so long as it's not the McCoy theme, ill be happy)

  • @DarogaDaae Don't worry, I'm 17 and love 'em

  • i am 17 too :D

  • Hmmm, guess again :P

  • :-D Good to know.

  • @DarogaDaae i'm younger than my profile says, much, much younger and I'm here

I'm 21 and not even from a country where this is syndicated...

  • @DarogaDaae

Nah, your not. I'm thirteen, (turning fourteen in a week and two days)

  • @DarogaDaae meh im just 11.

  • @DarogaDaae

Right here, 15, don't worry about it.

  • @DarogaDaae not alone

  • @DarogaDaae no im under 15

  • @DarogaDaae im 14 YEARS OLD AND A GIRL!

  • @DarogaDaae only 15 I love Doctor Who

  • @DarogaDaae lol im 9 and my profile says 20 somet :D

  • @DarogaDaae I am 21...so you're not alone even with the uploader in mind.

  • @DarogaDaae don't worry i'm waaay younger :)

  • @DarogaDaae lol im 15 and i love this

  • @DarogaDaae Dude, I'm 15. No one is too young or too old for Doctor Who! And I've watched some newer David Tennant episodes, but I still like the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker stories more.

  • @DarogaDaae nope im15 lol

  • @DarogaDaae nope. im 13.

  • @DarogaDaae nah I'm way under 25 :)

  • @DarogaDaae I'm 11.

  • This is the best one... hands down!

  • the best of the classic themes, but pauls 2001-2007 theme is my favourite of them all

  • Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it.

  • I think I've listened to every version now. Some twice. Man, I'm pretty tipsy. I should go to bed. After one more beer and one more theme song. Maybe twice, this music is addictive. HEHEHE

  • I remember Dr. Demento playing this on his radio show back in July of 1982. One of the more memorable themes in science fiction.

    Thank you for posting!

  • This is actually one of the early themes, that was ment to be aired on the 2nd season ( I think ), but it wasn't aired on season 2, and was put on a cupboared or a shelf for storage. Then when it came to recreate a new theme for patrick troughton, it was taken out of storage and redubbed to fit with patricks title sequence, it was thought that the old theme just didn't have the right feel to go with patricks title sequence. That all I've gathered.

  • This version of the theme was given it's first airing in 1967 when the BBC commissioned Troughton's new title sequence. The Radiophonic Workshop dusted off the version of the theme that was released as a single in 1964 (the one of two versions that wasn't used in 1963 for TV use) and added the heavy reverb and the electronic jangles at the beginning. It was then re-edited into a different version used from 1970 season. Marke Ayres wrote a lengthy piece on the theme's history and worth reading!

  • That's what I mean, just that you've put my comment into different words.

  • Well, it's always good to have a second opinion! Just to clarify, the version used on the single in '64 was one of the versions rejected for use for the pilot episode in August '63

  • Yeah, I guess it is good to have a second opinion. That means that you get 2 chioces to choose from.

  • The most iconic piece of music in TV history, I love it.

  • this sounds the most like the new one I think, with the chords in the background :) I <3 this one :D

  • Hell i remember this alright.. saturday evening... 5 years old and afraid to come out from behind the sofa!!

  • I barely remeember wathcing re-runs of the this in mid/late 80's..............but the theme music has, and will always stay with me............really neat theme music, and not to be forgotten..

  • love it with every fiber of my doctor who loving body

  • Absolutely unforgettable.

  • Oh I love this one! Gives me chills, no really, I've got CHILLS!

  • this is my favorite version of the classic theme.

  • this one clearly is better than murray golds shitty version.he has taken away the creepy sound and ruined it.now we have a student looking knob playing dr.who. just gets worse

  • @spookyphill I'd be anxious to hear what you think of him now :)

  • Still the best Doctor Who Theme music ever! IMO.

  • OK, I've checked a dozen or so theme tunes to Dr Who so far and this one is close to the one I'm looking for. A year ago, I went through all that were uploaded to youtube and could not find that particular one I want. Is there some sort of conspiracy going on with this theme tune? I know for a fact there is one out there that beats every other, but not found it yet. This is really bemusing me, lol.

  • Love this theme

  • do you have the version of the theme that left out the middle 8, (used around tom bakers first season, like in genesis of the daleks)

  • All I can say is watch this space! (Not this space, obviously! I mean my channel page!)

  • What do you mean by "the middle 8"? is it a musical term?

  • The middle eight is a term used by Who fans to refer to the "jolly" sounding bit in the Who theme music.

  • I think I know what it is. I call it "the bridge"

  • It starts out he movie's music, right?

  • if you mean the bit from 0:33 to 0:53 then the answer to your question is yes.

  • Indeed, that is it. I figured as much, but I wanted to be sure.

  • bridge or middle 8 are the same, like to cross the bridge lol

  • some people call it "middle 8"

  • yes, dalekkit, we've established that . . . three weeks ago!

  • MY BAS SORRY I WAS BORED

  • I MENT TO SAY BAD on the last comment

  • Sowy dawekkit, i was wude!

  • you spelled rude wrong

  • I misspelled EVERYTHING. I did that because it was supposed to be said in a child's voice. Hence all the w's.

  • it the 00:34 paart of the theme

  • Yes. I think "the Bridge" makes more sense. It's a musical term, and it fits. On a side note, I taught myself to play the middle eight on a recorder waaaaay back. Late 90s, when I was a middle-schooler. I can also do the Babylon 5 theme.

  • awsome
