most of the games are quite new and popular to be binned. they could still make money on those machines. I went last monday and the windows are now boarded up. meadowhall sucks now and I'm gonna start calling it meadowHELL from now on :(.
hi again toby7ten long time no speak. remember that cinema booth in front of namco wonderpark? well thats gone and also all of the outside of the arcade is completly different yet nothing is open yet at all and whenever I go to meadowhall (not that I choose to go) its now total deadsville in the oasis food court hahahahahahahahahaha bet their loosing some right money meadowhell huh?
I've just e-mailed meadowhall trying to change their mind, what good that will do I don't know but its worth a try if it will stop before its to late. lets just hope they reply.
Yo, what happened was at the last minute Meadowhall decided to open three restaurats in its place. Namco offered to pay the extra rent AND mor emoney on top but still told to hop it. The casio is shuttin down next week. Then the cinema is gonna move down a bit, basically the whole corner part is gionna change. Oh well.. Arcade scene in UK is dead anyway... Lucky cos I live near London and have the Troc to play stuff :-P
The casino is already shut cuz when I looked through the arcade window of namco some fruit machines from the casino was inside and was dark. I wouldn't say arcades are dead cuz there still popular at seasides and bowling alleys etc. but still not gonna be the same without namco wonderpark around.

meadowhall AKA the wankers think they well get more money from 3 restaurants. but when namco otherd to give them the same rent as they would get from all 3 restaurants they still said no . so they just don't wont us there . i think meadowhalls making a big mistake .
We used to have a big community of fighting and DDR players there, since 2003 it's been pretty dead though. Losing Namco is losing a big part of my teenage years =/
I guess if it wasn't for that flood this year it wouldn't be closing down. big mistake for meadowhall to do. no more lets go jungle or daytona 2 I guess. wonder what margret will do now.
I agree, I went there tonight and couldn't belive my eyes. first thing I notised was the lights off then the shutters down and then seeing no game machines all gone "sniff" :(, meadowhall have made a big mistake, looks like I'll have to make do with hollywood bowl. "sigh"
Hi kieranmay, worked there summers 2000 and 2001, on miimum wage woohoo. I played the EZ 2 Dancer machine religiously until 2004. Loads of people took photos all the time, sorry cant remember you =P Went on their last day, Sunday before closing. Bit nostalgic!
I used to take photos all the time til it closed its doors but got telled off by the staff and even once got thrown out LOL :D but margret (manager) kindly let me take photos. I'm gonna miss that place :(

meadowhall forced the arcade owners to close down so they could convert the area into 4 restaurants so they could make multiple rents on each place

some were test machines couple of new like MAXIMUM TUNE and LETS GO JUNGLE and some very old ones like the NBA`s and most of the ticket games.
