I'm going to amsterdam next month. Ive been to the museum many times, but never here. This time i will. I'm getting one of these 72 hour passes that includes train travel from the airport and unlimited tram travel. Does any one know whether one can go that far out to waalstraat with one of those passes?
And does anyone have specific directions from there and are there any nearby bars or pubs?
@AnneAulisRobin Aw, luckily I went in July last year when it was sunny. I think it's a great tribute, the street is beautiful, thanks for watching :).
does anyone who has lately been in the prinsengracht know, if the chestnut tree is still there? there was a big debate because it is ill and they wanted to cut it down.
I've been here 6 years ago, I've visited Anna Frank house in Prinsengracht and also visited her school in Nierstrraat, very near from Merwedeplein. I loved so much this visit, I'll be bac k, that's for sure!!!!!
This is fascinating - I didn't know the memorial was there! I'm just back from Amsterdam - went to the Anne Frank House, of course. Also saw the small memorial statue of Anne beside the Westerkerk - but did not know about Merwediplein or the memorial there,
Yeah I just went last week monday to thursday for the second time. I saw the anne frank house of course, that memorial outside the westerkerk (i might include that in a new video), and then Merwedeplein. You could have went by tram from the dam sqaure to the waalstraat stop, it was 2.60 euros there and back. Thats why i went again to come and see her original house, Thanks for watching :)
Wow, that was a quick reply! Thanks for the instructions about how to get to Merwedeplein - I've written them down . Incidentally, did you know there is a WAXWORK of Anne in the Amsterdam 'Madame Tussauds'?? It's easy to miss it because it's behind a 'window' - I only noticed it by chance.
lol guess what I went there as well, I'll include that pic as well in my new video. It was only put up last year in december. By the way the tram you should take is tram 25. Then it's 13 stops after the dam sqaure and then at waalstraat, and a less than 5 min walk south and there you are and you will see the statue straight away. Then walk across the street till you see number 37 and thats annes house. I'll include this footage of her house as well!
I wanna go and see this, I have been to the annex a few times but not here and I wanna go now so badly!
