Oh and shut up you rollkur people. I know your type; you ride around with the horse's head in the rafters never touching his godforsaken mouth because the horse should somehow magically "come to a connection" and "find the bit himself". Most of you will never make it into the show ring and few will get past 1st level.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, just don't go criticizing something you think you understand just because you read some sketchy articles on the internet.
wow this horse has come SO far over the past two years. He's way more connected and lighter now, its like his frame has shortened by a foot! Looks like a different horse. Patrick has done such a good job developing this athletic stallion, they're certainly on my radar for London!
i have NEVER heard that patrik kittel rides rollkur. he is an amazing rider and i look up to him. i dont want to believe that he does. yes, here the horse does go a bit overbent behind the vertichal line sometines but its not rollkur. and its defenitly a proof of that he rides and trains it. cuz there is ver very very many horses that go overbent very very easily and it can be a problem for the rider. and this horse seems to have that problem. can anyone give me proof of that he trains roll kur?
@BetzkiNilzki there is a proof: put "Scandic blue tongue uncut" into the youtube search and chose the first video. Hope you change your opinion about him now, because I think that he is not worth being looked up to as long as he "trains" horses like that.
@MrsDiniaxx it doesn´t say that it´s him, how do you know that? you see, i´m no good at recognizing him and i really don´t want it to be him so i´m a bit suspicious.
@BetzkiNilzki Just put "Patrik Kittel Hyperflexion" into Google search and picture search. You will find pictures that show him doing it, I'm sure you'll recognize him, because it's really conclusive.
This is not what dressage is supposed to look like. As a dressage rider this embarrasses me; as an animal lover, it breaks my heart. Even if you throw out the controversy of the hyperflexion warmup, there are still major issues. The poor gelding is exhausted, obviously hates his job, he's on the forehand, talk about a terrible canter, and he is basically just looking forward to the moment when it's all over, heaving himself through every movement , with only a few exceptions. Sad, sad.
@fleur4198 i would be happier if i would be blind and deaf so i wouldnt have to read pathetic comments from people who think their something better than they are!! im not saying hes good im just saying spare your comments!!
Come on! A frontheavy horse is incapabale of doing piaffs, passages and pirouettes!!! He's only ten years old and does not have the strenght to have his head in a optimal position all the time. Many horses curl their necks when they get tense, not only those who are trained with rollkur! I think Patrik is an amazing rider and horse educator!
Oh, come on, a front heavy horse can do it! I see it A LOT here, horses not correctly trained, horses not bending through the haunches, through the stifle, not taking enough weight behind, yet they manage the movements. You realise that in warm up you can purposely make a supple horse low while doing all sorts of things, piaffe, passage, pirouettes, so as they dont learn to go the other way and brace the back and, in the pirouette especially, just spin around. Used to have to do that with my..
horse in piaffe because he would brace his back and hop behind, it helped him to stretch and relax the back. But NEVER did I have to pull his nose in and haul his head down and fight him for it. Not once did I put his nose to his chest. You can make a horse low in front and he will still do the movements. But the poor training technique scandic is unfortunately privvy to is evident in every movement here, in his head set, in his lack of balance...if the horse doesnt have the strength to do..
these movements without looking like hes falling all over the place then he shouldnt be there! And if a horse curls the neck its usually an evasion, a way out of working correctly, same as I can garauntee almost posting everyone here does not have the correct body posture, we all find evasions from moving and using our bodies correctly because its easier and so instead we have many back problems, problems with joints...horses are the same. I do it, I broke my leg five months ago and I still..
walk with a major limp because my body is over compensating in some areas that it finds easier to use than walking correctly...even though I realise it is completely different given my injury, I am going to have to teach myself to walk properly again otherwise I could continue to walk in an inefficient manner for year, long after my leg has healed, simply because my body will favour the stronger side and find it easier to move that way. Dressage is meant to strengthen the whole of the horse.
scandic shouldnt look like hes weaving from side to side when hes competing at one of the biggest competitions in the world along side the so called best in the world. Nothing against Patrick personally, and apologies for the rant, but I dont know how you think this is alright..
i would be very worried if a 10 yo doing Grand Prix dressage doesnt have the strength to hold his nose IFV. if he cant maintain that position, then he really shouldnt be doing GP. that is a basic, basic thing
If it was Grand Prix he'd probably only would get 70% but because it's a Freestyle you get marks for Artistic Impression which i thought was very good and probably where he got the marks from.
That was a very ordinary bit of riding for a European Championships. I've seen better riding (on nothing like as GOOD a HORSE) in the outback of Australia!
I don't see any rollkür in this at all. I don't think that ppl who are complaining understand what rollkür is.
