  • Yes, the Royal Hare is good for all kinds of dog hair. I've spun Husky as well as Border Collie (have several friends who have BCs) and much more. Some breeds have a coarser coat so even under coat isn't as nice to spin (Old English, Newfies). Just about any dog with a double coat provides wonderful fiber for spinning. I even did a little Chihuahua (not a double coated breed) from our dog, saved for months to get about 20 yards.

  • can you spin border collie hair or not and is huskies hair the best

  • Thank you i haven't spinned before but i love to crochet and want to make my own...Thanks

  • Where can i but though big brushes?I have a maletse his hair is so soft...

  • Use a soft bristle brush or slicked- for a Maltese even a small comb. Save all the hair. It may take a while to get enough. Ruthie, who is Spin2Weave and also RallyJudge

  • thank you so much for this lovely video! :) it was very helpful! :)

  • I love spinning dog hair, but must admit I do most of it on my wheel, not spindle. Husky spins beautifully, have done some for a friend - and dog hair is very warm - try to keep the twist at a minimum - then the yarn really "blooms" when you handle it. Good luck.

  • Awesome video!! I hope to learn to spin the masses of 'puppy fluff' I brush out of my Siberian Husky's coat during his daily brushing sessions. Having articles made from yarn spun from one's beloved dog is a way to feel your dog's warmth around you whenever you want to, and helps to keep your memories of your best friend alive even long after the dog has departed. I can't wait to get started--I've been saving fluff and looking forward!!
