I could definitely see Eddie Griffin as Sammy! I'm not sure about his acting skills, though. Since it's a Scorsese film, I'm sure he'll be looking for top-notch actors.
Martin Scorsese has signed on to direct a new biopic about Frank Sinatra. I'm excited for it, but I wonder who they will cast to play Frank? So far the only details that have been released are that Scorsese doesn't want to have his actor do any real singing so that he can use Frank's actual voice, and that this could possible make room for Scorsese's muse Leonardo DiCaprio to take the title role. What do you guys think about that? I love Leo, but I'm not too sure about him as Frank...
he's not tall enough. he's not broad enough. and Leo is just a pretty face. dude's best performace was Howard Hughes. everything else has been practically the same part, just recycled.
Yeah, I love Leo as an actor, but I don't think he'd make a good Sinatra. Sinatra wasn't that tall (5'9ish-510ish), and Leo is about the same size as he was, but Leo is kind of a pretty boy---I just can't see him playing this megastar who came out of Hoboken, New Jersey.
This doesn't seem accurate, imo. I mean, let's face it. Sammy was the most talented of the group, and Cheadle is a scene-stealing actor. But Sammy's skin complextion wasn't that dark, and he seemed a bit shorter too. Also, Liotta didn't seem convincing because of his voice compared to Sinatra's.

Don Cheadle stole this movie so bad, he left the others standing in their underwear, although Liotta did a good job hinting at how scary Sinatra really was. And I mean SCARY.

I was very impressed with Liotta, though Joe Mantegna as Dean was a joke. Cheadle was fantastic. Great movie in the HBO tradition.
