Un livre recent sur les chansons de Tchaikovsky, celui de Richard Sylvester, considére Reizen le meilleur interprete de cette chanson en particulier.

Не думаю, что это такое уж прямое подражание. Хотя, конечно стандарт, который создал Шаляпин для басов в тот период несомненно изменил манеру пения. Тем более, Шаляпин был бас-баритон. А Райзен как и Михайлов были бас-профундо. А это достаточно большой промежуток в тембрах, чтобы сделать невозможным подражание.

И уж тем более мне не понятно откуда сравнение в гнусавости? Шаляпин никогда не пел в нос! Укажите мне хоть одну ноту, где бы у него звучало носовое звучание?!

@starfair Михаилов был бас профундо. Реизен бул бас кантанте нет профундо. Своы дяпазон в юности бил от ФА до верхнее СОЛ ит тоже ЛА диез. Слушаете дует Реизен-Михаилов в запись Руслан и Людмила 1938 года, где Реизен идёт до верхнее СОЛ а Микхаилов идёт в низкому ДО.

Mikhailov was a "bass profundo". Reizen was a "bass cantante" not profundo. His range was from low F to high G and also A sharp. Listen to the duet Reizen- Mikhailov from the 1938 Ruslan - R goes to high G, M reaches down to lowC

Ну, что сказать... Михайлов так же брал великолепно верхние для баса ноты, как и Райзен. Это не главный показатель,я думаю, для одаренного голоса. Главное тембральный спектр. У профундо низкая певческая форманта сдвинута в более низкий частотный диапазон, нежели у кантанте или тем более у бас-баритона. А высокая певческая у всех басов примерно на одной частоте в 2200+-100Гц. Но тем не менее, суть не в этом. Ни Райзен ни Михайлов не подражали Шаляпину. У них был свой, великоленый стиль и голос!

How is it that we have reached such a low and live in such shallowness that great art and culture are shunned in favour of the instant "star" conjured out of pathetically little real talent and achievement? ne luchshe Shalyapina, a byt mozhet bolee iskusstvennyi golos. Not necessarily better than Chaliapin, but perhaps a more tutored voice. Certainly an excellent performance. Spasibo! vhan2007!

Я думаю что Рейзен не был подражателем Шаляпина. У него стиль пения более музикалный и тоже лучший голос. Он один из лучших исполнителей песен Чаиковского.

In my opinion Reizen was no imitattor of Chaliapin. He had a more musical style of singing, and the better voice. He is one of the best interpreters of the Tchaikovsky songs. (Sorry if my Russian is not very good)

I learned this song in English about forty years ago. Some voice teather wanted me to sing it. Until today I've heard anyone else sing it and of course I had never heard it in Russian.

I like the way Reizen does it. I shudder to think what I did to it those many years ago.
