  • Sir Colin Davis, conductor Mozart is the greatest ever. Some from here have no idea of Mozart!

  • It's a genial performance, just like the man himself. Fluffs the first allegro, though (2nd violins), but makes sure to nail it after the second lot of masonic chords.

  • nope, I dislike that interpretation. sounds as f the handbrake is on and lacks the passion. Other versions here on youtube are way better, for example Toscanini

  • my absloute faverite part is of this entire thing is 4:47 until 5:03.....its just a great part of the overture and honestly i love the whole thing

  • My favorite part of the Overture is the ending, starting at 7:03.  It's marvelous.

  • it's a tough decision, which overture I like more. I'd assume the Figaro one is more popular

  • What about the William Tell and Barber of Seville overtures by Rossini?
