A little musical technical geekiness here... I would have gone with the upright bass. We played this one when I was in a band both with the electric and the doghouse, and the doghouse just sounded warmer. Meh, that's just me, though.

Not to demean anyone but heard Santini ( Dr. Powell) sing recently on Youtube and while he was great in the day, it was not the Santini we remember. However, Johnny never lost his voice. He understands voice control and how not to damage one's voice. He is also a voice coach so not a wonder he never lost his. Wonder who taught him? Or did it just come naturally like the rest of this man's talent? I will have to ask him. He's so nice to his fans. A true gentleman.

@Tonithenightowl Dr. Scott (Santini) Powell may not have concentrated on his singing much since he became a full time doctor. Usually, Santini did the Elvis songs but Johnny does a wonderful job on this song. Also, I saw a clip of Bowzer sing "Can't Help Falling In Love" and he did great also.

@JayBBluejay My fave of Santini is Stuck on You. Santini did a mean Elvis, I agree. I saw that bowser clip too and loved it. My fave with him is Ghost Riders in the Sky. Johnny, well he can do just about anything but of course is a true tenor. They were great. Best damn cover band ever. Thanks for responding.:o)

I wouldn't say his voice is better than Elvis, (because I think Elvis had a beautiful, unique, amazing voice) but I will agree that Johnny has his own beautiful, rich, uniqute, amazing voice and I just melt when I hear it. Love it! Love it!

On the other hand, Elvis was also very humble. I remember hearing him quoted as saying that he was no better than anyone else, he was just in the right place at the right time. No need to compare the two, they both are/were great singers.

@cevc918 that's because when Johnny sings it's just like he's singing only to you. She is in good company with her love of Johnny's voice and talent. Even men have to say his voice is superior and we know most guys would never admit to that lol. He can take grown, mature women and make us think we are 16 again, a feat all in of itself lol.
