  • @chinbitch legionarey cohorts are better than urbans rtw vanilla version is mostly historically inacurate when it comes to units and provinces

  • not fair gladitors dont stand a chance vs spartans it should me spartans vs urban cohorts now thats a battle

  • cool battle

  • Gladiators??? i expected to see spartans vs legionaries

  • what website is this

  • Spartans and Romans never fought....Macedonia took over the Greek peninsula and isles and then when Rome took over Macedonia, it took over Greece too so the Spartans never really fought Romans....I hope this isn't a history think you show students....

  • 5 отрядов городской когорты 3 отряда вспомогателых лучников 1 отряд онагры и сосать будут спартанцы хД

  • Macedonia phalanx, like Spartan and Athenian phalanxes, could not be turned to face reverse direction. Romans would take the phalanx in the rear with cavalry every time. Phalanx was good, until the flexibility and discipline of the roman legion came on the scene. Not to mention Roman brutality.

  • @leechambliss didn't they every try noob box?

  • THEY ARE NOT ROMANS , THEY ARE GLADIATORS STUPID , AND THE GLADIATORS WASENT ROMANS

  • It is unreal... In real life Romans 100% would be victorious!!!

  • @genWathier You know they HAve a Holiday in Greece when The spartans Beat the romans?

  • @AmirKhanUchiha No, I've never heard this. But I know from history, Spartans didn't defeat Romans in the times of Roman Glory, and in earlier times their weapon had been too old to fight against Romans. In addition Roman tactic was much better.

  • gladiators??? onestly you must be an idiot to think romans went to war with gladiators.

  • @Narciso3322 well the gladiators wouldn't be there if they weren't ment to be used.....

  • @BlackHawkPictures23 thats true, but you see this should be rather called spartans versus gladiators. Gladiators were slaves of romans not romans them selves.... this right here is entitled by someone that knows if he was actualy playing against romans things would go quite differently than the turkey slaughter that just happened :)

  • MEDIEVAL TOTAL WAR MUSIC!!!! FUCKING MEMORIES RAIN LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW!!! YESS!!!!!!

  • SPARTANS ARE BETTER!!!!

  • THOSE GUYS ARE NOT SPARTANS!!

  • romans are better than spartans

  • @jo1italianstyle No, there was just more of them.

  • @Homerp68 no not for this but for the formation end the strategy(real sotry)

  • love that soundtrack

  • Sorry but this not a good video, The Spartans could never allowed close range infantry like the Romasn the room to manouver around them, plus where are the Pylon Spears thrown by the Romans at close range?. The formations are too loose as wqell for both sides, in history they could face a walll of shields & spears crashing into each other.

  • such a weak looking skin they made for the spartans in this game. Search for ATGS spartans skins

  • sparta!!!!!!!!!!

  • Romans?

  • sparta xp max, roman zero

  • @IVAN1997526RTY yes but wouldn't it be like that in real life? Spartans would have the better training and gladiators close to none.

  • ╭∩╮(︶-︿-︶)╭∩╮

    (((( NiCe ))))

  • @IV0nst9r its called rome total war

  • whats the game called?

i kinda wanna play it :P

  • @lVl0nst9r no offense kid, but are you half retarded? do you know what "description box" means?

  • @pijef are you retarded for being rude to say that to some one?

  • Why would you use gladiators to represent rome? Urban Cohorts would decimate the spartans with there pila, then charge in and rout them

  • @justAwatermelon13 only try

i held a bridge with 160 spartans against 1500 legionaires (pricipes)

  • @justAwatermelon13 and only with xp at max, the others beeing at lvl 1 of upgrade

  • most people use the spartans pikes

  • the spartans would get creamed in close combat but they have pikes so it is unfair.

  • so un fair spartans are better wariers

  • so un fair

  • Did you think this was a fair battle? the spartan hoplites in Rome Total War are incredibly strong, the gladiator unit sucks balls compared to them.

why not early legionaries? christ even they'd get wiped out

  • @TimGuitar59 i recommend praetorians or urban cohorts

  • what game is this

    .......

  • @DMZ145

lol rome total war are u blind or what

  • lol nice music

  • what?

  • AWESOME I SEEN NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS!

  • One of my most favorite games and time periods however they fucked up the histrorical accuracy.

  • @sneakyooo7 Thats what mods are for :)

  • most of the people are believing that the spartans would win just because of the movie "300" truth is there were 300 spartans..... and 1000 arcadians. and in this battle, for what ever reason, the romans in the battle were gadiators instead of the heavl armed legionary cohorts. im not hating on the spartans, im just providing information

  • @colinthecuzzy at the battle of Thermopylae there were about 7,000 Greeks and they killed about 25,000 Persians.

  • @e102ewan thanks. i get confused about my history sometimes :p

  • Comment removed

  • is it on a website or on a video game?

  • @commando414 It's Rome: Total War. I got it for like, ten bucks.

  • thats spartans vs gladiators!

  • Comment removed

  • spartans have shields and spears you know

  • *appauling

  • @MrIncredijoe im just saying that spartans were not armored that well and romans were and depends on the amount of each depends on who will win

  • @MrChrisw33 Spartan Phalanx/Hoplite was a heavily armed warrior with a massive brass/bronze shield, breastplate, greaves, handguards, helm, etc.... they were heavily armoured troops and the best trained troops in the world at the time since their society was based on military system. its unfortunate that hollywood has the ability to make a bullshit and make everyone beleave that spartans marched naked into fights.... people are getting more stupid as the technology increases. This is a sad truth

  • @Ouija121085 i know and understand that but would you like to play rtw with me some time

  • @Ouija121085 That's Right Dude :)

  • spartans we not armored good romans were and romans kinda are like spartans so depending on the amount of romans and spartans depending on who could win and if a spartan in real life fought a roman it could be a tie

  • @MrChrisw33 wow ur grammar is appaling make no sense

  • In a actual fight spartans would win either way.

  • 300 Spartans wouldve took all them

  • the romans conquered greece only because they were more

  • @HerasBoss and their tactics were superior to yours

  • @darnjack0roll i'm not greek,i'm romanian, and their tactics wasn't doing any good cause of the terrain where greeks were trained to fight, they were heavy infantry and romans light infantry,if they battled at thermopylae or other place like that the greeks would beat the crap out of them

  • @HerasBoss but how the greeks got conquered b romans if the greeks were so superior? i quess u really suckd

  • @darnjack0roll Because Thermopylae was a bottleneck. No place to fight but head on, and no flanks exposed. The Greeks would kill ANYONE. They were the supreme heavy infantry for head on combat. The Romans beat them by flanking them. The Greek lines were locked in place, and difficult to manuever, whereas the Romans could just walk around, and attack from the sides and back. ARE YOU GETTING IT????

  • @747t Read a history book bro for the reasons that Greece conquered from the Romans. As about tactics the only real batlle was at Kynos Kefales and there warent any Spartans, at this time Sparta was a shadow of what it was before 250 years and had about 900 families.

  • @bouzoulll Fuck a history book, did you even read my comment? Where did I mention Sparta? Fucking idiot. Read a grammar book, by the way.

  • @darnjack0roll They didn't fight at Thermopylae, they faced the Romans out in the open, and got the hell flanked out of them.

  • @747t they still would have gotten beaten up,romans had super tactics, greecs had tactics like every other country did, they just had better soldiers

  • @darnjack0roll The greeks would NOT get "beaten up" head to head (in other words) FACE TO FACE with Romans. Unit to unit front to front, the Romans would get skewered. A phalanx is nearly impossible to defeat from the front. This is not yet involving tactics. LEARN TO READ, AND STOP WITH THE STUPID IRRELEVANT RESPONSES.

  • @747t orly? its really impossible? hmm,why did greecs got destroyed if thei phalanx was so hard to beat?

  • @darnjack0roll Because you're a fucking idiot. The Romans attacked from the SIDE, not the FRONT. GET IT?!?!?!? A phalanx is only good face to face. GET IT?!?! You're fucking stupid.

  • @darnjack0roll If you can even read ENGLISH, look up the term FLANK, you FUCK.

  • @darnjack0roll 300 Spartans + 1000 other Greeks held of hundreds of thousands of Persians because they fought face to face in a bottleneck. Once the Persians flanked them they knew they were doomed.

If you don't understand anything I said, don't bother responding.

  • spartans never die there just missing in action

  • um...sorry to burst your bubble but, Sparta fell to the Macedonians in the B.c era. but the Romans did fight some name Spartacus. not spartan. sorry......

  • @starwarslife12 actually phillip II and alexander never chose to actually conquer sparta. that was the one part of greece that wasnt conquered by the macedonians. dont have my history book with me at the moment but you can feel free to look it up. lacedonia was the territory of greece under spartan control.

  • Rome would have destroyed the phalanx. I would have just flanked the Spartans or reared them when they're in the middle of fighting with cavalry.

That's why the Romans occupied Greece.

  • @ArguriosRS yeah after sparta fell

  • @cobraopts7 shut up

  • Gladiators are not Romans

  • if you look at the history books the romas did fight the spartans and won. you got to remember spartans were great fighters one on one but the romas where great is a team. the spartans had longer training but the romas had more experiance because romas were always on the move etheir protecting their borders or capturing someones kingdom.

  • @Strikeeaglex spartans were not great "one on one" fighters. they fought in the phalanx formation, which relies on UNITY and COHESION. without that, the phalanx can not function. each soldier uses their shield to protect themselves and the person to their left. you break formation, there goes not only your protection, but the protection of the person to your left. the phalanx also could not turn to face flanking attacks quickly and that was a huge disadvantage that the romans exploited

  • you all daft. depends on tactic's if spara had there phalanx deployed in a square like shape and there muscle backboned behind them, they are un-predatorable. meaning they wont get attacked from behind or the sides each are covering each others backs which makes them a dominate force. ive had 5000 romans vs 800 spartans and i won with that tactic

  • @awaker200 could work against infantry easily. but you are also tightly packed, which makes you a great target for artillery and archers. sure the side of the square facing the ballistic attacks will be better off, but what about the side facing away from the archers and artillery? you cant chase off the archers because they are too quick and breaking this square will cause your defense to collapse. being flexible, adaptive, and aggressive works better than being a turtle and on the defense

  • moter

  • WTF gladiators vs spartans!!!Better use roman infantry from the barracks.

  • Spartan pwns roman I would be a good fight though

  • gladiators???????? use roman legionnaries

  • i think spartans are really good at defending an area but romans are good at atacking

  • Romans and spartan troops had good fighting styles, but the Spartans had trained all their lives for this. But the Romans had far superior numbers of highly trained soldiers, but it all depends on the situation.

  • I doubt the Spartans would win against the Romans. Maybe against gladiators but not Roman soldiers.

  • @DaddyWarbucks452 The Romans came much later and by their time, they develop ed far better technologies. The phalanx was also outdated. Rome also had greater resource and manpower, thus could have sustained more instance fighting for longer time. I believe that the Spartans were better warriors, but in war skill alone can't produce victories.

  • if you set unit scale to huge than you can have around 20.000 soldiers on one field ;) anyway good vid

  • @Mursch92 how you do that?

  • was greek enhancement not out at this point

  • you gave romans shitty troops lol :) romans are stronger javalins kill them spartans easy and catapults

  • r u serious! those r glatiators in the gmaenot the romans the spartains were amazing soldires i know but show thieragod gainsed accually goo romanoldires and what would ctually be most of the roman army

  • romans own!!!

  • After defeting the Persians,Greeks had civil wars nearly every day.All these wars made Greece powerless by the times of Rome. When Rome invaded Greece,Greeks didn't even unite to face the challenge. Some Greeks allied with the Romans while some other stayed out of trouble for as long as they could.I believe that if Greeks were united,Rome would never had conquered Greece.Middle Ages wouldn't exist and mankind would have marched on moon centuries ago.

  • the only wrong is that after the pelloponisian war(if we dont count the thebes) greece was united by the macedonians n was spred across the world(phillip the second n alexander the great) after alexanders death, his empire was divided into pieces n these pieces were taken by rome. but in many points u are correct, if greece had a new leader rome would have been kicked out like persans before :-)

  • @zk8551 the greeks were divided as long as there was a greece in ancient times. and during the persian wars they still bickered amongst each other, and the coalition of greek city-states almost fell apart during that part. read Herodotus's : Histories

  • @ktgkenny I already know that

  • you're right about them being strong though.

  • The roman took the strategies and skills of the Greeks and made them twice as good. A roman soldier would kick a Spartan's butt

  • uhhhhh, no they wouldnt if they faced sparta at like 400 bce.

  • The Spartans where crushed by Roman dumb dumb

  • R u an idiot? I said if they faced each other at both their strongest period/time (dumb dumb), then spartans would win.

  • Nope, the roman out numbered the spartan nearly 100 to 1, and they don't fight like weak unarmor Persians.

  • I'm also talking about equal amount of troops, not giving the romans 10,000 to what 100, it would be a fair 6000 to 6000 each.

  • So they did lose. Depends on what Roman troops are used. Spartans almost always attack in a phalanx, which they where very powerful against a charging force. But this formation is weak against unorthodox attack strategies. So if the Romans charged the Spartans head on and fought like the enemies Sparta went against. Spartans would win, but they would suffer heavy loses. If the Romans attacked from multiple fronts (like they often did) and scattered the Spartan formation, they would win.

  • wasn't sparta helping carthage.(correct me if im wrong)

  • a few times yes, but they went against them too

  • i just argued about this cause i like playing as the Greeks, hoplites r pretty much invincible in their phalanx .

  • @Jem93rocks

Yeah they were. First Punic War, Carthage hired the mercenary Spartan Xanthippus to take out the approaching Romans, which he did. But Sparta as a city-state wasn't fighting alongside Carthage. If they were, it might have turned out differently. But I'm sure Sparta in her prime would have been one hell of an opponent for Rome. Xanthippus was successful in routing Romans, so who knows.

  • By the time Rome came to power Sparta was a shadow of itself it did not have the same soldiers the same city-nothing the noly reason why they virtually died out was their racist attitude towards foreigners wishing to be in the Spartan phalanx it was just disregarded so the Helots revolted the Greek cities ganged up on 'em and you know how that went that's what you get with an unfair oligarchy and a rising foreign population with no rights to be men.

  • Spartans stronger better solders but Romans would have the numbers and skills.

  • How come Sparta was eventually conquered by Rome, then?

  • spartans would have won if they had the same numbers of men well if sparta had bout hundred and rome had 150 sparta wud win but rome had grown a army of thousands maybe millions and they had skills and good shields and swords butnot very good armour but they didnt need it

  • the roman empire sucks

the spartans are deffinately going to kick some butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • spartans would own their training was tough the romans where just organized and in great numbers

  • even without palanxh mode or something, spartans own

  • how can your cpu handle this
