We live in a Secular world for sure. The only way these people would ever think about giving thanks to God, or even think about God at all, is the moment before they think that they might die. Some of them can pretty darn close to dying in that video, but they may still be so worldly that they can't give up clutching onto the idea of "getting". And that would die in that frame of mind.
