  • arrest that gorilla

  • This is a pretty damn good port, coming as close to the arcade version.

  • atarisofts versions (including yet another c64 version-the one previously mentioned is by atari of england, who created this port) also have the pie factory level.

  • You make it look easy...I could not get off the first board when I played at the pub! :)

    Do they have this release on any home systems? Nintendo, sega, snes, etc. thx

  • Red as fuq.

  • What game is that exactly called because when I play the pc version I'm way slower and I never get hammers. Please reply!

  • Very faithful port. Sound is a bit lacking though.

  • What emulator you using Axelino? I like CPCE. Caprice is also ok, but I like CPCE's auto load/run. (no typing load"filename"...........RUN....) BTW, I think the C64 & CPC are basically the only DK ports that have the cement factory/pie board. Personally I think the CPC has the best DK port of all. The colors look brighter & it look more like the arcade version than any other.

  • @gjc82071 : I use the Cpce emulator, it's less complete then winape but you can record easily your longplays

  • do you have the system ? the no: 1 score on twin galaxies page is 43.900 look like you can beat that just record the screen with cam and send them the tape to varfy

  • @uhfnutbar1 I love Twin Galaxies, but hate them for not accepting more emulators. Especially MESS. After all, how many people do you know that have a Fairchild Channel F, or Bally Astrocade? & they only accept CCS64 (Commodore 64) instead of VICE (the BEST C64 emulator). I emailed them about more emulators. They could offer no good reason. THAT is why there are so many blank scores for rarer systems. I just don't understand what the problem is? Why not help keep gaming/rare systems alive?

  • It looks cool! Similar to the version on the C64.

    My only complaint is that the background "tune" on stage 1 sounds quite a bit distorted. But the sound Donkey Kong makes in the beginning is BADASS!! :D

  • That is an excellent conversion on the trusty CPC!

  • Why do all these versions put the boards in the wrong order? The Pie Factory is not second.

  • Original arcade DK:

    L1 = Girders, Rivets

    L2 = Girders, Elevators, Rivets

    L3 = Girders, Pie Factory, Elevators, Rivets

    L4 = Girders, Pie Factory, Girders, Elevators, Rivets

    L5 = Girders, Pie Factory, Girders, Elevators, Girders, Rivets

  • The Amstrad/C64/Spectrum/MSX versions all followed the original layout from Japan:

    LX = Girders, Conveyors, Elevators, Rivets

    It was changed when brought here to the States.

  • This is easily the best of the 1986 Ocean conversions.

  • Nice conversion (and a nice looking loadin screen to boot!)

  • How high can you get?

    hmm...

  • @EliasCrowe LOL

    well it all depends on the stuff you are taking X-D

  • best port of DK I have ever seen

  • By the way, this looks like a very nice port of Donkey Kong, better than the NES version. I wish Nintendo didn't stop licensing their games to home computers.

  • For some reason, I could never get this video to play. Even when I troubleshot my browser by clearing the cache.

  • Strange...try to download the last version of adobe flash player or use another browser ;)

  • Thanks. It works now with what I currently have. Must have been some kind of glitch. I use Firefox 2.0.0.11. And now that I think about it, I can't believe Adobe Flash Player is already updated now. (I have 9,0,47,0 and I need to update to 9,0,115,0 XD)
