My voice student and I listened to you. He was like, "Ok...guy in his garage...this should be interesting...let's hear that one!" And we listened. And we LOVE it!
You have a beautiful countertenor voice! I love this song and wish I could perform it in its original form as you have, but for now there are quite a few notes that are just out of my reach. This is also an interesting piece performed an octave lower though. I can't believe you are completely untrained. Major kudos!
@lyrictosca Sorry, I have family that logs onto my account without me knowing. Although I do think he's good, and agree with your comment on most Americans being ignorant to good music (I'm American so I guessing I'm dissing my own country).
i listen to your singing whenever I feel the need for self indulgence, especially after I've completed some arduous work. It always gives me great joy. Thank you.
Wow. You hit those high notes better than I did for solo-ensemble and I'm a first soprano. //-O I was beyond nervous, but that's beside the point. I wish I had heard this earlier, as I like your ornamentation. I doubt I could have done that much as too many of the notes were changed for a judged performance, but some probably could have helped me. Amazing job!
I ... am ... dumbfounded listening to you. Haha. You're better than like 90% of women that sing this! I feel like the only person I've heard sound that good at high range is ... um ... ... no one that I can think of off the top of my head. Color me impressed.
This is pretty amazing! That was beautiful! How does a guy learn how to do that? I'm a soprano, and I learned that song just started out. It kicked my butt. But you sing it so splendidly.
WTF dude check your pants right now, do you still have testicles? Just playing nice job. Countertenors always seem weird to me, just personal preference i suppose. DO you talk that way too?
Just for your information, countertenors sing that way due to the technique they use, not due to some sort of hormonal imbalance as you seem to think. They speak normally. The voice is not female as many people think. It is decidedly male and a trained ear will tell them apart immediately.
Great!!! you are really a very good countertenor, and the best of all is that your voice is not complete trainned, I am countertenor too, thank you!!!
is it just me, or did i hear a tril or two in there? i just barely learned about trils about three weeks ago, because my choir is singing laudate domino by mozart. i'm a soprano, and i absolutely love singing them. i'm singing se tu m'ami for my voice teacher and i was just wondering if you had any pointers on it, i would really appreciate it. oh and i would love to hear you sing the begining solo to laudate... it would be awesome. ha
Yes, you did hear a trill or two. I am truly flattered that you would seek my opinions on this piece as I am largely untrained. My best advice would be to follow your voice teacher's instructions on this and other pieces that he or she assigns. I also remember Mozart's Laudate Domino. My college choir sang it during my freshman year. It is a sublimely beautiful piece that I have often thought about singing myself. By the way--if you need a midi file of this aria, just ask!
HOLY GEEWIIZZ! im gonna hopefully be singing this song for a solo contest im gonna be entering and im having trouble enunciating a part of it the "non perche mi piace il giglio gli altri fiori" but wow! when i clicked on ur thing i was expecting a deep voice! i was like AMAZED by ur talent :) i hope i do ok. and i hope my voice teacher likes the song haha. :D sounded great! keep up the good work! :D
Thank you for your kind comments. If you would like a practice midi file of this piece, just specify a key and a tempo and tell me where to e-mail it, and I will send the file right away! Thanks again for listening and commenting.
You've got such a captivating voice..I used your video to work on a competition last year and did rather well..you float the high notes, and it's positively breath taking.

you are absolutely amazing!I am currently studying at McGill University in Canada, and I've worked on this song before, and am re-visitng it now, along with Per la Gloria and Amarilli.I am watching all your videos to help learn my songs because I think you are fantastic! Keep singing!!

your voice is exquisite. i'm singing this song in this key right now. my vocal coach told me to watch you and take examples. you are truly amazing! thanks!
I was not expecting to hear a countertenor! But what a beautiful voice and spot on coloratura. Nice Italian, however, (if you aren't already aware) I see you workin' that jaw a lot more than you need to. I have that problem, and my professor makes me practice with my palms under my chin (lightly) and my elbows on a table/piano; so if I move my jaw too much, I'll "pull a bobblehead." This helps you use your lips more, which makes the Italian crisper and gives you less work to do/jaw tension.
i love this song. it's one of my favorites. i wish i was your neighbor. i could sit outside and listen to you all day. i'm singing it for lessons, but i can never make "facilmente a t'ingannar" sound good. now i know that it's possible! keep posting songs!

Thanks for listening. Yes--as several people have been kind enough to point out, my lower falsetto pitches need some work. Being a natural tenor makes it sometimes difficult to "choose" between the two voices on the lower notes.
As a voice teacher with degrees in operatic performance, I have to say "Beautiful Counter Tenor Voice!" What a pleasure to listen to.
