My grandfather used to sing this to me when I was little in the kitchen on the rocking chair. There must me dozens of versions to this song and I don't know the exact lyrics he used to sing, but this one is close. He was born in 1917 and he passed away in 1999. I wish I could find the exact lyrics, but this sounds pretty darn close given the age of the record.

It falls at about the time when he was a young bachelor and he would have heard tunes like this. He and his brothers played instruments and sang all the time. He played a harmonica.

This brings back great memories of he and I. Thank you for posting this! :-)
