Not a Ford fan. I'm a Chevy guy but I'm not one of those Chevy guys that foams at the mouth and talks shit on Fords. With that said, I always liked the Taurus SHO line. Very happy they brought it back a few years ago. The Taurus is a great car (Dad had a 2004 Taurus SES) and now with the addition of EcoBoost, Ford is really doing their shit really well right now. I'm a Chevy guy, but props must be given to Ford. I mean they are getting it DONE right now.

I love the new taurus lineup that ford has come out with, much nicer than the POS outdated as hell impala. The Taurus sho is a perfect luxury car and if you ever need to be a tad bit faster then you can slap a cai, tbe, and tune and there ya go. Gotta love the new ecoboost engines

Yes, it's Ford's own twin turbo three and a half liter 6, but until Mazda got in on the game and started assisting designing engines for Ford to use in the Taurus, Contour, Ranger and other platform clones, they would have turned out a completely different engine setup

@lmorrow4 - I've worked for Ford, Mazda, Hyundai, GM, yada yada yada, and as times have progressed, the difference in design in vehicle engines and management systems have started bridging a gap, almost to a point there are no special differences in the design of the drivetrain, spare different parts, that make one platform discernable from another. Look @ a 2.4 DOHC I4. I actually give Ford quite a large amount of props for designing and manufacturing such a well built and unique engine design.

Besides, the new SHO's aren't real, they don't have a Yamaha made engine. ;)

This engine is not unique though, it's a plain old ecoboost, which is used in a bunch of other cars.

The SHO had a heart of it's own, it's own legacy and personality, due to it's unique, dual intake engine, custom body stylings, it's mind blowing speed and power(1989 mind you) and it's cool factor.

This is just slapping a common engine, and some stickers on a car.

@cmaxO123 Where are you getting "plain old Ecoboost" from?? The SHO was the first model to use the "plain old Ecoboost" and the other models borrow it from them. Its true the original SHOs were unique in their powertrains but this one would chew up and spit out any of its predicessors. The only reason you MIGHT be able to say common engine is because the Ecoboost formula will be used widely to increase efficiency and fuel mileage, something the goverment has mandated.

So since the mazda 6 and 11' v6 mustang both use the duratec 37 that means they have the same engine right? No. Why? Because its the same block with different parts and tuning.

@hardyea Yes and no. 19.6mpg was her average but not the actually mpg at those speeds. Once you increase your speed, if you want actual mpgs, you must change your gauge settings to read so. If this actual, alot of other motorist would probably be travelling much faster without any regards to fuel economy.
