I've just started a pre-apprenticeship at a trades school in Australia. There's no women in my electrical course, but there's at least a dozen in the bricklaying and carpentry courses (susprisingly they aren't all lesbians either! lol).
My one requirement for working with a tradie is that they can do the job well. If a woman can do the job well then I have no problem working with them.

Don't know about the UK but in Canada for every great woman woman and there are many in construction there are 100 like Jude and I imagine this must be the same in other male dominated Jobs and that is why it's hard for the good woman to get jobs, not only do they have to fight the old boys network as it were and sexism but also the companies who sour on the idea after hiring 50 to 100 Judes

I've worked in construction for many years. The reason there are more men in construction is because it's a physical job AND WE ARE STRONGER. Period. These two are morons. You hire who can get the job done better an faster. Hiring someone because they are female in spite of the fact that there may be a man that is stronger and faster, that is discrimination.
