  • BRING BACK BROOKIE!

  • wow this is very old i was only born whn this started

  • All i want to add to these comments is my Mum had that exact same wall unit at 2.30,LOL!

  • Miserable old bald old duffer

  • It's interesting that Brookside were the only soap not allowed to broadcast chart records on the show, so it was all made-up music by session musicians. Maybe they didn't get permission form the Performing Rights Society. No self-respecting party at that time would've played that shit music. Same in later episodes, the same session musician track was played in every episode, everytime the radio came on.

  • Justine Kerrigan (Tracy Corkhill) was born on the same day of the same month of the same year as me, so that errrrr makes us exactly the same age. Oh, and the drummer out of the Inspiral Carpets was too lol!

  • @Panthera0nca Yeah so how old would that make you both then.

  • @mtaylor848 Don't think that bloke was ever young, its hot summer evening and few teenagers are having party, so what is his problem, nobody else on the close seemed to mind or care.

  • Quite strange how every facial expression is like I saw it yesterday when I saw it once all those years ago. Maybe twice with the omnibus.

  • That party was off the hook!

  • billy corkhill

    legend

  • i say bring brooky back!

  • @britanxx I agree, hope that dvd campaign is success.

  • The music wasn't that loud and Brookside weren't allowed to use proper pop songs that anyone had ever heard of, for copyright reasons. That's why in various episodes of Brookside you never heard songs that were in the charts, they were always songs by session musicians. If u don't believe me, take a listen.

  • Just loving these Brookside the 80's episodes, great acting and believable drama, anything else from this era you could upload please.

  • @MeBenHalpin thanks meben, ive got a few brookside episodes from 86,87 and 94 but cant upload them due to copyright, not sure how this escaped c4 copyright net

  • @themachman19691 Yeah someone was telling me, Channel 4 has blocked lot of Brookside footage online, pisses you right off, thanks anyway mate.

  • @MeBenHalpin Yes I agree. I'd love to live somewhere like Brookside Close.

  • @Scrabbler27 I certainly would have liked to back then in the heyday of the show, with neighbours like the Grants and Corkhills etc.

  • The Days Just Before Acid House!

thank god for the rave scene (which was just around the corner)

  • Legendary!

  • Tracey's shoulder pads - and Paul Collins barging in... magic memories! Thank you for uploading.

  • I don't understand, so Billy & Doe were upstairs all the time?

    Great clip!

  • @UKArchiveTV They were meant to be out apparantly, but you think they must returned that night and seen load of very drunk and stoned teenagers lying in there living room, don't think could just ignore that and go to bed Lol.

  • Brilliant! The acting! The hair! What's more I'll speak for meself, but I can definitely relate to this!x

  • That's one wild party from Hell ! Wey Hey !

  • Does anybody know what the chracters who played tracy corkhill and paul collins and katie rodgers are doing these days

  • @MegaDave1973 the girl who played katie rogers works in my old college in the performing arts department x

  • Do you see diane on a regular basis . Is she married, and does she keep in touch with any of the brookside cast. Cheers for your reply

  • Yeah probably fuck all !!!

  • Brookside was simply quality in the eighties the corkhills were brilliant espicially billy

  • @MegaDave1973 I like to know the same thanks. Please let me know when u find out thanks.

  • @Forestamtul I know that dean sullivan who played jimmy corkhill wanted to buy brookside close to bring to the soap back.

  • always remember rod having a dodgy arm. used to wave about at the elbow when he talked! Whats all that about lol :)

  • Doreen has a gr8 ASS

  • lol look at thier costumes

  • lol thanks for posting! I remember this, especially how angry the long suffering wife was in the aftermath of the party and throwing the sleeping guests out hahaha...

This is real nostalgia from when Channel 4 was a serious, daring and raw broadcaster, before they sold out to the £££ lure of crap like Big Brother. As C4 went downhill in quality, eventually so did Brookside.

It's a very cynical company these days, motivated purely by profits over raw and cutting edge TV.

  • The houses look so small. In the show where big families live in them, i can't understand how they did. Real life families wouldnt.

  • @Scrabbler27 They are real houses and real families do live in houses like that.

  • Welshbird1998 is correct.

Channel 4 has gone downhill since the appearance of Big Brother.

Brookside in the 1980's was the best.

    Great acting and quite real.

  • i must admit i had a mad crush on tracey when i was 12. wonder how she looks now

  • @eon14873 Can't imagine, she's lost her good looks, she did re-appear visiting Jimmy in 2003 episode and she still looked really well then.

  • Whatever happened to tracy corkhill and and rod the plod?

  • Rod left after his wife was involved in the date-rape situation and Tracy vanished from the programme sometime soon during the early 90s. Her last major storyline was with Barry seeking a reconciliation and wanting to have a child with her.

  • @JayArgonaut Then she appeared again in 2003 visiting Jimmy and still looked really good.

  • rod the plod was a hairdresser in quarry green krkby years ago last heard he was up in huyton hairdressing

  • @YammyR1col

They were both gone by about '93. But Rod came back in 2001 and Tracy came back in 2003, both to visit their uncle, Jimmy. Tracy apparently married some guy off-screen and was living in Australia.

  • Grrrats!

  • Are you sure it was 1986?

  • aye,deffo..

  • the actor who played damion grant described early brookside as like punk rock -very raw

  • channel 4 should seriously consider showing classic programs like brookie after they axe big brother...strangely enough, channel 4 and it's programmes (which sadly included brookside) have been going down-hill since 1999...when big brother started. i dread to think what's become of 'hollyoaks'...

  • Hollyoaks, another Phil Redmond creation, still lives on but it's not exactly must-watch TV and you're absolutely right.

C4 is now the equivalent of a great band that used to have classic albums and then sold out themselves and their original audience after realising how much money could be made from a mainstream pop audience.

  • @JayArgonaut I agree so much! Hollyoaks is full of good-looking young people but no substance or drama, I can't believe Phil Redmond is involved in it, its shite.

  • @JayArgonaut

Those gits refuse to acknowledge their history on the main channel but Thank Fuck for 40D!

  • Old brooky is great.

  • Best days of Brookside up until the fire, then shite.

  • i agree

  • What fire was that mate???

  • explosion/fire/crash or something i can't remember exactly

    but killed off old characters!

    then the soap was crap

  • They all look so stylish.

  • I take it Tony Forsyth is the guy in the yellow top?

  • Cool

  • Great stuff. Thanx for posting. Great times and Tony Forsyth should have been a main character in Brookie.

  • Wanted to see this ep of Brookie with Tony Forsyth in for ages now. Thanks very much for posting it.
