Why would you bathe your cat?? I've had cats all my life and none of them ever needed bathing. None of them are dirty or smelly. All you have to do (uneless they have flea's) is brush them every now and then.

@sticky170 To reduce dander/shedding and cut down on Fel d1 proteins on the coat (from cat saliva due to self-grooming). Some people are allergic, and sometimes people want to make sure their cats don't cause a LOT of distress to their relatives/loved ones.

One time my cay came on with blue paint on her fur, my sister left a little model she was painting at the sun for it to dry, and our cat probably rubbed against it by accident, the paint was fresh so we had to remove it as quick as posible before she tried to lick it off herself . A BATH removed it quite well, and shes doing fine now.

I haven't bathed my cat fully yet, but I have had to wash her legs and chin(with a cloth) a few times with safe soap and warm water. I might wash her fully if she gets dirty looking/smells bad. She trusts me completely so whenever she's had an experience with water she's never completely freaked out. =P

Most cats don't need baths, but I suppose if you train them early on, it'll help lots when they do need a bath! One time, my cat Harry hopped into a bucket of house paint. We definitely had to wash her! Poor kitty!
